A man in Joker face paint attacks a creche

WTF! That's horrible. But how comes no one stopped him? He could of been over powered by sheer numbers, it's only one man.

True, and considering it was "just a knife"....I meen, I can't beleive THAT many people were hurt.

lolz yea. What were they doing? Standing around WAITING to be stabbed or something? :hehe:

The joker was also a comic book character an a movie character, no a real man!

i know... my comment was highly insensitive. I thought about that afterward.

You know some guy's gonna blame the movie for this, and maybe it's a little responsible, but still it's gonna get some much bad press for this.

How can they blame the movie? This was a grown man, not some young impressionable kid that committed this crime.

It's not always about kids, adults can be impressionable too. Look at the Nazi's.

Ah come on, how can you compare this to the Nazis? Hitler was a real person who was preaching against Jews. And that's who the Nazis crimes were against.

Joker in TDK didn't preach to anyone that you should go out and attack children in a creche. Joker didn't committ crimes against any kids in the movie. This was some sicko who decided to put on Joker make up and attack a bunch of kids in a creche.

It's like those two kids who killed little Jamie Bolger in England in the early 90's. Apparently they had been watching Chucky in the movie, Childs Play, a couple of days before. And that movie is all about a killer doll trying to kill a little kid.

I didn't say that's what I felt, just what other lesser intelligent people would think.

It won't be a nation wide crisis either, but you will get some guy who doesn't like comics, or entertainment for that matter, and bash the film because of this.

I noticed nothing mentioned in the article about TDK, AAMOF, notice it said he wore makeup "like a joker" , not "like The Joker", but I'm sure it won't be too long before somone makes that connection,no matter how far-fetched it is.

He also had bright red hair. They might as well have wrote "like Ronald Mcdonald".
But then again, Joker sounds more fitting (even though mcdonalds has made children morbid obese)

If he has red hair why don't they say "clown"? Then is trying to stir it up probably.

Well, witnesses said that he just looked like the Joker in TDK. It has a lot of space in media (in Europe)... And another "connection" (for media) could be that the first name of that guy is "Kim" and Heath's father is Kim, too.

.....and his last name is Degelder wich is an anagram for (the) ledger.

How the hell did a man who had white and black make-up on his face get into the creche in the first place?

What did he say?... 'Uh, I have an appointment'

Absurd that he ever got past the security/ secretary desk!!

oh man, i can't even combine in words how WRONG this is... we are talking about little kids who got stabbed. way to go to make fun of.

@topic
corpsepaint existed before heath ledger's joker.

I told me grandparents about this, and when I told them he only had a knife, my Grandma got real loud and yells "WELL I WOULDN'T OF DONE ANYTHING! HE HAD A FRIGGEN' KNIFE!"

I look at her for a little while, and say "If a man came through this door with a knife, I'd get up and do something about it." -me

"WELL WHAT IF HE STABBED YOU!?!?" -her

"What if he stabbed YOU?" -me

"Well....uhh..." -her

"I would do something about it." -me

:whatever:

Making fun? Who said i'm making fun? I'm being deadly serious. If i was in a nursery, a kindergarten, whatever and some nut came in wielding a knife i would expect every single adult in the entire building to swarm him and over power him. I've been in a situation where people have been stabbed before, I don't take things like this lightly. Don't jump to conclusions :cmad:

And besides I know what went down now anyway.

Exactly. If kids are at risk i would gladly take a jib to try and stop them from getting hurt.

yeah you are all heroes and you know now exactly what you'd do then.

Don't get sarcy. I've been stabbed before whilst defending someone (only with a broken bottle mind). And i've been standing there when someone has stabbed one of my friends before, needless to say, the bloke who stabbed him got quickly over powered by the rest of us. It's just instinct. If some nut case came running into a nursery stabbing babies i would expect adults to do anything to stop him, including getting stabbed themselves.
