Smackdown wastes no time moving things forward, two solid tag team matches to set up a #1 contenders match, and transitioning from LA Knight's first promo as US Champion into the #1 contenders match between Escobar and Andrade, I was glad to see Escobar go over in a way but being the first challenger rarely bodes well for the chance of becoming Champion. I'm not sure who wins between the Street Profits and DIY, should be a good match though and I like DIY's new promo entrance.
This angle with Jade, Bianca and Naomi against Fyre, Dawn and Davenport feels like filler as they continue to develop Jade's in-ring game, I'm curious to see where the tag team division goes from here with Iyo & Kairi potentially becoming #1 contenders on Monday, I can't see Fyre & Dawn having the belts much longer.
"Tacky time" Chelsea Green never disappoints
I like that it's 2 fellow heels that are questioning Tiffy's motives "Fibanny" lol I expect Chelsea and Piper to interupt Nia's title celebration with Tiffy next week, a feud between these 4 should be fun, it doesn't matter that they're all heels.
Roman wiping out the Tongan's was good and I think the injury to Jacob Fatu might be a silver lining as it keeps him and Roman apart for now. It's going to be interesting to see when they plan to do Roman vs Solo for the Ula Fala, as there really isn't any obstacle to Aldis booking the match.
You called it.
I liked the way they did it, Owens turning it down because he doesn't have the current win/loss record to warrant a title shot, only to lose his cool when he thinks Roman's getting the shot and ends up taking it. This was good booking, the idea that Owens would just forget all the times Roman had help to keep the WWE title just because he's a face now, would be ridiculous, they did the same with Bianca not just accepting Bayley as a face after all Damage Control did to her.
