A New Era for the Wrestling Thread

I agree. If he wasn't going over as a face against Gunther, then he should of gone over as a heel against Zayn. But instead he was jobbed out both times and has now seemingly has just become reduced to cannon fodder to enhance other talents. Really frustrating.

Yeah, Gable got his heel gimmick over brilliantly, and then he signed his new contract and since then has been floating, he's another who could benefit from being on Smackdown.

I'd love to see it (Drew winning), but I just can't see Cody dropping it to anyone, but the aforementioned two at this moment.

I actually don't see Cody dropping the title until after Wrestlemania, putting it on Rock would be like the bad old days under Vince, and Roman had such a marathon run as champion I think it'll be quite a while before he gets the belt again, gotta build up that face journey first.

Seriously, I saw the clips on Twitter, AEW is just full of idiots.

Why must you have matches where you do these indie spots and having your wrestlers hurt each other with light tubes, cinder blocks, doing splits on thumb tacks and all this other idiotic BS?

And Willow could've seriously gotten hurt in that botch with Statlander on the table.

That company is for the birds.

AEW, where attempted murder is only the semi main event! if you're going to do this kind of ridiculousness, you have to at least close the show with it, it's booking 101. Also, apparently Moxley's new gimmick is inspired by Russell Crowe's neo-nazi character in Romper Stomper.......

Hangman and Swerve tried to top their idiocy from Full Gear, the syringe spot is, and always has been, moronic and Swerve is lucky if he hasn't really hurt his back off that powerbomb on the cinder block, I just hope the chair was gimmicked for the finish, this garbage is the antithesis of what pro wrestling is supposed to be.

So how many number 1 contenders matches will Jey win? He should have won an IC title before now imo. Sammi was the wrong choice imo. Both Chad Gable and Jey Uso would have benefited more from beating Gunther. But Jey and Jimmy got their dream to wrestle each other at Mania so there's that, even though that match was the drizzling ****s compared to the rest of an amazing show.

I still think he loses the title match... again. Maybe Bloodline interferes giving him an out and he can be the one to defeat Bron a little later on. We'll see. I think it's more likely Reed will be the one to defeat Breakker.

Ilya and Dunne should have a feud like Andrade and Carmelo. Let them put on bangers each week.

The Judgement Day got plenty of heat back on this week's Raw, and setting Priest vs Balor and Rhea vs Liv for Bad Blood makes complete sense.

I'm just waiting for Gable to get out of this angle with the circus troop :sleepy:

Both Women's tag matches were solid, great to see Nattie back, the triple submission finish was great! :D

Drew delivered another strong promo and I am curious to see if the tease between him and Wade goes anywhere 🤔 Punk vs Drew is heading exactly where we expected for what should be an epic finale to their rivalry.

Gunther telling Bret Hart to his face that Goldberg is his favorite wrestler was NASTY WORK.

LMAO.

That was gold! :hehe:

This segment with Bret was the perfect way to use a retired legend in his own city to build a feud. I'm guessing they are saving Gunther vs Sami for Crown Jewel.

The Fatal 4-way was a pretty good main event, Strowman getting divebombed by a low flying Bronson Reed was the highlight. :D

Jey Uso is a conundrum, Cornette summed him up perfectly "He's over as f**k but his work is bulls**t", so WWE want to feature him but they aren't really putting belts on guys who aren't good in the ring these days.

That's a great idea for Dragunov and Dunne. 👍

That's another reason he should have won Mitb. It would have been like giving him a title without actually giving him a title.

At least it might have stopped Rikishi moaning for a while.

The Last Man Standing match between Trick and Dunne on NXT had a bit of an odd finish but it was a good match, this program has shown good development from Trick, I'm guessing he wins the NXT title back on the CW debut.

The Bloodline showing up to take out the Street Profits and Axiom & Frazer was really surprising, Jacob Fatu is a force of nature!

Oba Femi has been on a roll with these hoss matches, another solid outing with Hammerstone this week.

Great to see Jordynne Grace back in NXT, and I think Sol Ruca is a star in the making, really fun match and I was surprised with the Wendy Choo angle, hopefully that means more Grace in NXT, as her and Giulia was teased as well!

Giulia had a solid debut, she'll get more accustomed to the WWE style but she has incredible aura and charisma and Chelsea was great as always, playing the perfect foil to Giulia. Looking forward to Giulia vs Roxy on the CW debut.

The two big MLW guys Jacob Fatu and Hammerstone both on the same NXT show.

I know we love praising Montez Ford and how he's a future champ but let's point out how far Angelo Dawkins has come in the past 2 years. While I never see him as a world champ, he can be a player in the midcard for years to come if booked right.
