The Cody vs Solo cage match that kicked off Smackdown was fantastic, one of the best old school cage matches I've seen in ages, and easily Solo's best match to date. Both guys used the cage smarty, and the Cody cutter off it in particular was spectacular, and I loved the snap finish with the door tease.
Everyone knew Roman was coming when the Bloodline had Cody trapped, but it was still a great moment, and the tease of the showdown between Roman and Jacob had the crowd going nuts. They bookended this with an intense promo segment between Roman and Cody, before Solo and Jacob came out to goad them into the tag match at Bad Blood, I loved how Cody and Roman kept each other in their periphery as they reluctantly signed the contract, this was great stuff and had the crowd hanging on every gesture.
The other 3 matches on the show were fine, I thought Michin vs Piper was too short though, like the bad old days of Diva matches, at least it seems like the program will continue with Piper and Chelsea getting some heat post-match. Waller and Theory are both good talents but they're drifting at the moment, WWE needs to pull the trigger on their split.
I liked the mic segment with Nia, Bayley, Tiffy and Naomi, and it's set up an intriguing tag match next week, I think Naomi might get the pin to earn a title shot as she's been good since returning and hasn't had a big singles match on a PLE yet. It was also cool to see the interaction backstage with Nia, Tiffy and Jade & Bianca, could see that being the tag title match at Survivor Series.
