A New Era for the Wrestling Thread

It's about time!

I'm quoting this so it doesn't get buried in the previous page. I think Michin or Chelsea should be the first.

I'd also like to note that KO is gonna be pissed at Sammi for rejoining the Bloodline. Probably gonna give him a package piledriver

Great episode of Smackdown, everything forwarded a storyline. As is often the case the Bloodline bookended the show, I'm not a fan of Sami Zayn but he cut a good promo, and Roman's internal conflict of not being in total control anymore is an interesting twist. The closing angle reuniting the Original Bloodline was well executed and sets up the War Games match we all knew was coming, and I'm hoping we still get 5th members for both teams after what Solo said.

Bayley vs Candice was a decent match with a smart finish, and then Candice trying to help Nia and Tiffy against Bianca & Jade, after it was revealed that Tiffy had set up the big tag match to gain favour with Nia, was an interesting development. With Liv & Raquel getting the tag title shot on Raw I'm guessing Nia and Tiffy will interfere to set up the women's War Games match, with Nia, Tiffy, Candice, Liv & Raquel vs Bianca, Jade, Naomi and I'm guessing Iyo & Kairi, but Bayley might be in there instead of Kairi.

The MCMG vs A-Town Down Under was a good match, Waller is such a great heel, he's got the obnoxious personality of Miz, but with superior physical and athletic skills. The backstage segment where the Steet Profits told MCMG that they had a title match next week played off Ciampa demolishing Pretty Deadly earlier in the night, I'm curious to see if DIY go heel or if Ciampa is going to become a singles heel, maybe challenging LA Knight.

I loved the angle between Owens and Orton, it was so oldschool! Weaponising the piledriver is a great idea and was perfectly sold by Graves and Cole, they were just somber enough and didn't oversell it, Cody going in the ambulance with Randy is another moment that's leading to their eventual title match, but first I think it'll be Cody vs Owens at Survivor Series, probably in some kind of unsanctioned street fight.

Absolutely brilliant news about the Women's US title! :wowe:.......over to you Pearce. 🤨

Funnily enough these are the 2 names I've seen under pretty much every post about the title, I'd go with Michin as I want Chelsea & Piper to win the tag team titles. :D I'd also throw Naomi in as a potential winner, and you can't rule out Bayley if they want to establish it's status right off the bat.

5th member of Solo's team could be The Rock. He showed up at Bad Blood and no one has mentioned it since. But then who's number 5 on team Roman?

Agreed this weeks Smackdown cooked.

I think Hikuleo will be Solo's 5th member, and Heyman will bring Roman's 5th member. It would be great if Rock was involved but last thing I read was that he won't be back until 2025, my guess is he'll be on the first Raw on Netflix.

I know they say neither will be at the show, but I have a gut feeling of we have 5th members, for OTC team it will be Cody and for New Bloodline it will be Rock. At least, if I was WWE, that'd be my goal.

I'm going to guess it'll be Lance Anoa'i for OTC and Tama Tonga's brother Hikuleo for New Bloodline.

I don't see Rock coming back just yet.

Here is why I think it will be Cody and Rock:

1 - They're building that Roman/Cody vs Rock angle. This is best platform to advance that at least before the Rumble. If they don't advance that now, then likely we get no movement until the Rumble.

2 - They want to make a splash. Last year they had Punk coming back. Having 2 more or less new to the WWE audience doesn't accomplish that. Having surprise appearances by Cody and Rock does.

Now, the people you mentioned I can see making an appearance in the match. But more in a Rock comes in and he brings help kind of way so the good guys get destroyed and the New Bloodline wins.

That's how I would book this match.

@Spider-Fan @Shinobi Shaw

The only way I see Cody being in the match is if Owens is on Solo's team, before they even get back to Cody and Rock there's a lot to do with Cody, Owens and Orton,
I could see Owens being the 5th guy, and Rock comes back to cost them the match. This is a plausible scenario. Plus you get the juicy Owens after feuding with New Bloodline joins them deal

It's definitely possible, personally I'd rather Cody face Owens 1 on 1, as the whole motivation of Owens heel turn is his self righteous attitude towards Cody teaming with Roman, I feel it dilutes him if he isn't a loner. The Rock could cost them the match but I'm not sure they'll want the Original Bloodline losing 2 PLE's in a row, but anything is on the table these days, without Vince's creative suffocation,

Kevin is right is one of the best t-shirts. He's gonna be pissed at Sammi when he's done with Cody.

So from everything I have read about this, the WWE ID Program is like the academy system in the English Premier League. I think that may be the best way to describe it.

For the Americans it's like the MLB run Dominican League in baseball.

Damien really sounded like he was from the Bronx here. Sounded like my boys growing up

So Pearce did not announce a women's IC championship. Do you think they're waiting for the first episode on Netflix to do it? Or will the new US title float between shows like the women's tag titles?

Edit

Michael Cole said it will be defended across both shows. I'm team Michin for the inaugural champ.
