A New Era for the Wrestling Thread

Personally, I fee like he should drop the world tag titles and be given a solid run as the world heavyweight champion.
Yes to both. But he really needs to drop those tag belts either to the War Raiders or the New Day.

Very solid SmackDown yesterday. Loved the heel turn for DIY.

Apparently trading season is about to start and will include NXT as well as Raw and Smackdown. So people will move around. LA Knight to Raw is definitely happening imo. And Monday Night Melo. I think Aldis called it a transfer window. Expect some nxt call ups as well.

Kevin Owens complaining about Cody having three sets of pyro is one of my favorite things ever in a promo :funny:

And this is random but I went to wwe shop, Seth's merch is terrible.

With Thorpe out, my money is on whom ever his replacement is. Could it be Oba Femi? Penta?

Scared my cat popping for Giulia's win. Fantastic main event. Was fairly confident she had it when the match was the main event. But with Steph feeling burned, will she cost Giulia her second shot at Roxanne.

I read that as scared my cat to pooping :funny:
It's been a long day, and I'm tired lol

KO calling Cole back to put the window up in his face was *chefs kiss*

Just watched Bianca vs. Piper from SD. I need Bianca as a world champ again now.

Yes! And let's give Piper her flowers. She's really good.

Who will be Melo's surprise opponent next week? A Raw guy? Nxt call up?

Which people would you shuffle around during this transfer window? Predictions?

If The Rock is unavailable for Mania, how would you feel about this as the main events for each night:

Night 1 Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton
Night 2 CM Punk vs Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins

In my scenario above I'm imagining Punk having dethroned Gunther and that match being for the whc.

Honestly, there are times where I really hate how the Rock can interrupt so many plans at Mania due to last minute changes to his schedule. Given his position on the board, the Rock is likely able to insert himself into any role at any time.

Gargano's facials were great. :D

It was interesting to see Gable appear, strong promo between him and Cody, and an excellent main event. Is this transfer window gimmick new?

The final US qualifier was a good match but Tiffy just completely forgot she's a heel because she was in her home town.

This angle is the best thing I've ever seen Owens involved with.

I wasn't surprised that Oba Femi was the replacement, but I was a bit surprised he won as I didn't think they'd do him vs Trick until Stand & Deliver, as I don't think Trick is ready for the main roster, he's still in his fetus Cena stage. I liked the intensity between Wes and Evans in the match, and afterwards.

The Women's Iron Survivor closing the show was absolutely the right call, it had the most interest in the build up and it was always going to be the best match on the night. I thought having Giulia wrestle the full 25 minutes was a good call, it was a great showcase for her with a big win and celebration!

Credit to Wren as well, she's taking a page out of Chelsea's book and getting over even in defeat. I don't think Stephanie screws Giulia, I think things will be more straightforward with Roxy heading to the main roster, and I think they'll build towards Giulia vs Stephanie at Stand & Deliver.

It's fitting that Owens resembles the troll emoji. :hehe:

Excellent match but I wasn't a fan of the Super Cena booking.

Raw was OK.

The World Heavyweight Championship match at SNME becoming a triple threat makes sense, as did adding Sami vs Drew to the card. I loved Drew's vignette and explanation for his actions, nobody does seething bitterness like McIntyre. :D

I was disappointed that Zelina didn't qualify in the Intercontinental title tournament, Valkyria can work but she's about as milktoast as it gets, they could do with finding her a personality instead of putting a belt on her, the title never makes the woman.

Seth's promo was the highlight of the show, it played well off Punk's promo earlier and dug a bit more into their issues, there's a Bret/Shawn feel to their dynamic. I also liked Sami's promo here, warning Seth that he's starting down the same path as McIntyre.

I saw some people complaining that the main event was under 10 minutes, do they hate poor Rhea? She got as good of match out of Raquel as possible, asking for more time is counterproductive. The really exciting moment was the aftermath with Rhea and Iyo, some foreshadowing I hope!

Yeah the transfer window is a new thing. I'd bet on Cody and Gunther switching shows. Netflix is going to want maximum star power.

Yeah, I read a while ago that Netflix were pushing for Cody, Punk and Roman to all be on the Raw roster.

Yep.

Since NXT is involved, I'm going to predict Otis and Santos Escobar go there. I'm also going to predict the Street Profits are going to sign to different brands and see how they do as single wrestlers.

Otis and Tozawa would be a good fit in the NXT tag division, they'd have worked well in Chase U. That would be a good way to do it and avoid the tag team partners feud stuff while testing out the Montez Ford singles run.

I just asked about Shotzi and now she's back.
