Women’s Intercontinental Championship #1 contenders match

Vengeance Day was a really strong PLE, all 6 matches delivered!

Stephanie Vaquer and Fallon Henley got things off to a good start, there were a couple of awkward moments but overall it was a good opener and Stephanie winning the Women’s North American title was the right result.

The Tag Team title match was the sleeper match of the show, it had next to no build up and the Briggs/Inamura team have only wrestled twice TV, but Fraxiom are consistently good performers on NXT's big shows and Inamura had a real breakout performance in an excellent match.

Trick vs Thorpe was a physical strap match that saw both guys lay it in, and the finish got Thorpe a win and some momentum that keeps the feud progressing, whilst also keeping Trick on an interesting path where he's s not an infallible superman as he looks to get back to the NXT title.

Je'Von Evans put in a fantastic performance against Ethan Page, it was a contrast in styles that saw Evans really add some physicality into his spectacular athletic offense, and Page is a classic, traditional heel who provided the ideal base for the match. The finish was really well executed as shown by the slow motion replay.

Oba Femi, Waller and Theory did a good job of navigating the NXT title triple threat, avoiding it becoming a glorified handicap match, and both Waller and Theory bumped their assess off in a showcase of Oba's power and explosiveness. I'm not sure what to make of the new group that attacked him afterwards, it was their 2nd appearance of the night but this time Vic Joseph didn't their names.

Sami Zayn's promo got Raw off to a good start, him and Owens have been on and off so many times that it's hard to re-sell more betrayal, but he did a good job and the unsanctioned match is a smart bit of booking, it leaves room for them to still face each other at Wrestlemania.

I thought Ivy Nile would beat Dakota but given the previous match between Dakota and Lyra I'm happy for them to run it back.

Gunther doing Jey's entrance was great heat, and he cut another scathing promo before Jey arrived for a brawl, they should have had more than 3 refs trying to hold him back. I'm not invested in this as I like the in-ring side of things and Jey is a mediocre worker, but they're telling the story well enough, albeit laying it on so thick that it's almost 100% certain Jey is winning.

Dom vs AJ was fun, the dirty one is the ideal opponent for a returning face, and I loved the aftermath with Bron, I really hope they have Bron vs AJ 1 on 1 for the Intercontinental title at Wrestlemania, instead of some multi-man.

Roxy was on her Shawn Michaels, getting a pretty good match out of Raquel, and in fairness Raquel has been steady recently after getting the ring rust off. I liked the finish and the right woman went over, Roxy on her way to her first Elimination Chamber match, this is the best booking I've seen when it comes to transitioning a top NXT talent to the main roster.

Why were Bianca and Naomi wearing cheerleader outfits? At any rate their attack on Liv was pretty mild given what they supposedly believe her and Raquel did to Jade Cargill, I still think there's misdirection here as Liv never admitted to doing it.

Rollins vs Balor was a good main event, even though it was obvious Seth would win they did a good job of getting the fans to buy into the contest, and the finishing sequence was fantastic.

I liked the video package on Iyo that promoted her upcoming shot at Rhea and the Women’s World Championship, given neither were at the show.

I can watch Seth and Finn wrestle each other every week. They've got really good chemistry.

So with these titles, I can see Booker T's promotion "Reality of Wrestling" benefitting from this the most as he can book WWE ID vs. lower level NXT talent for these titles on his shows.

WrestleMania is almost here and I literally have NO hype for it.

God I hope they’re not hinting at Aleister Black with this “New Member” tease for the Judgement Day… Judgement Day is on life support at best, it’s time for Finn and Liv to go solo… I couldn’t care less what they do with Dom, Raquel and Carlito, as far as I’m concerned those 3 have been an anchor around the neck of Finn and Liv…

They should give Black the same type of treatment they’re giving Penta… He’s just as talented and can actually cut a promo… Keep him far away from Judgement or the Wyatt’s (another idea I’ve seen batted around online)…

WWE usually puts married couples on the same brands, so Aleister Black is going to Smackdown.

Finn has been there for a decade and has won multiple championships and done just about everything he can do and is not getting any younger. Putting over younger wrestlers and new stars is exactly what Finn should be doing at this stage of his career.

I actually think Raquel works quite well as Liv's bodyguard, with Liv being a smaller heel, but the Judgment Day as a whole is out of gas and not doing anything for anyone involved except Carlito, as without it he'd be released. Is the Malakai Black theory coming from fans believing that he's who Dom sent Gable to?

If they are hellbent on doing Cena vs Cody they should have Black cost Punk the Chamber and put them straight into a program, I'm sure Punk would prefer that to working with Logan Paul.

This might be an exception as him and Zelina have been apart regularly with being in different promotions.

I've mentioned this in a pm with Hunter, but I feel like Carlito should be moved to Smackdown, and used as a manager/mouth piece for Andrade. We know Carlito can talk, and he never wrestles, so that makes sense to me. It maximizes both guys imo.

Hopefully this new member is not Aleister Black. But who could it be? Is there anyone from NXT that would fit? My guess is one of the LWO guys will turn. Or I suppose you could put Kross with them since his group got relased. However he seems to be on a path to a match with Sammi, so I'm not sure how that fits.

I am likely in the minority on this, but I don't hate the name "Ricky Saints." He is from New Orleans after all.
