A New Era for the Wrestling Thread

They put the belt on Tiffany quite a bit too early IMO… She’s not ready for this on the mic or in the ring… Abruptly switching her babyface hasn’t helped but honestly she’s just too green to be in this position..

Rock/Roman needs to happen at next years Mania… Honestly it should have happened last year when they had the chance…

Still not interested in Cody/Cena… Mildly interested in KO/Orton, like them both but at this stage I don’t think that will be a great match with their styles, build should be good tho… Steiner/Penta is OK… It’s still all about Seth/Punk/Roman for me, by far and away the best match and feud going right now… Otherwise Mania is kinda meh right now for me…

Tiffany doesn't look as well rounded or ready for this level of push as Roxanne.

Personally I'm not really bothered if they never do Roman vs Rock, I think at this juncture it'll be like Hogan vs Warrior, very much a basic abc match, Rock's well past his best and Roman isn't someone who can carry a match, I think Rock was fine in the tag match last year as it can cover any weaknesses, especially with 2 workhorses like Cody and Seth to bump their ass off for him.

Classic entrance theme.

If they're ready, this is the perfect team to go up against Liv and Raquel

Put the Mona Liva in the Louvre.

In all seriousness WWE should pay those guys and put that on a shirt, and other merch. It would sell like crazy.

What country are they in tomorrow? This match will definitely end in shenanigans. Or start that way and we don't get to see more than a few minutes of Bron and Penta. Likely Dom and Finn interfere imo.

They're in London tomorrow I think.

But of course, there will be all kinds of chaos going on in that match. But that's still a choice to do it on TV and rehash it on a PPV.

That's Triple H's usual formula though....terrible build for major events but fantastic matches. He did this a lot when he ran NXT. The weekly shows were nothing to write home about, but the Takeovers were always fantastic in match quality.
Good ole Uncle Paul.

Glasgow tomorrow, Smackdown is in London. I guess we'll see run-ins and some multi-man will end up getting made for Wrestlemania.

That Gunther/CM Punk clip, my god. I would freak out over seeing that match live. The Belfast fans are so lucky.

Hell, I'd much rather have that match at WrestleMania than a frelling triple threat with Rollins and Reigns.

Honestly, Gunther is another one I feel for.

His whole WC reign has just been dark matches and calling brown people street trash.

Trips needs his ass kicked for mishandling him.

Triple H has also bungled the WWE ID thing by only having 4 women being a part of the program. They are doing ID Championship tournaments for Wrestlemania week and have already announced Kylie Rae vs. Zayda Steel, which means that there are only two more matches left: Zoe Sagar vs. Zara Zakher and the finals. The men can easily do a 16 man tournament with the 15 guys they have ID'ed but also Timothy Thatcher, who is a WWE ID trainer. The WWE has European tryouts next week and with the ID program, they can easily offer some of these Euro talents ID contracts without actually offering them NXT contracts. Hopefully more women come out of that.

I'm surprised as Gunther is one of his guys, he's been wrestling Punk, Seth and AJ Styles on live events, but hasn't touched a glove with any of them on TV, I think the Champion vs Champion match with Cody was the last thing he did that felt main event.

Exactly.

I knew what time it was when Gunther didn't even get a match on the first episode of Netflix Raw. Actually, with how that whole first episode played out I could tell that the product was feeling itself a little too much, but that's another topic.

I would think the next step for the WWE ID program would be to add other tag teams once they add more women. There's already one with Ricky Smokes and Brad Baylor, aka Swipe Right.

Bron showing the results of working with Heyman.

It's an odd situation, it feels like Gunther is World Champion in a secondary capacity, he's not really being treat as the main star on Raw, it's like he's in a rotation with a few guys, unless Punk is on the show, then it's pretty clear who WWE see as the top guy. Iit's not just about who main events Raw though, I'm glad they're mixing it up and it's not the same 3 or 4 guys every single week closing the show, this year we've had the IC title the Women's World title, the Women's Tag Team Championship etc.....all close the show, it's about how important the segment you have feels, and Gunther has spent weeks messing with comedy jobbers and choking out Jey, it doesn't feel important.

I'm so confused. Is Giulia injured and/or have visa issues? Or is that not the case?
