A New Era for the Wrestling Thread

The Dark State or whatever they are called in NXT shows off the one pro wrestling pet peeve that annoys me the most: a faction arrives and says that they are going after all of the titles or that everyone is in danger, when none of that is true. Them saying everyone who is in danger in NXT is not true: the women are safe from them unless they add a woman to their faction.

I hate that pro wrestling trope, because it is false and its stupid.

Of course, but people will still watch WWE, UFC and Professional Bull Riders.
And many people still buy Nike and shop at Amazon. Welcome to the hellscape of capitalism. They're still evil and people pointing that out shouldn't be a problem.

It shouldn't be but if we boycott everything because they are evil, we might as well go back to the Stone Age. Much of the food we eat and the clothes we wear and the cars we drive are from companies with unethical backgrounds.

I don't remember mentioning a boycott. You seemed to imply that because of new management, that WWE is no longer "evil". We are talking about the management that is cool with Hulk Hogan and hired a man who was fired from his last job for sexual harassment to run their shows. The UFC is notorious for anti-worker policies, and union busting. Dana White hit his wife on tape, and still has a job.

They're evil. I still watch them, but that doesn't change that.

I am not saying that they are still not evil, I am saying that's the reason the IWC has for the management changes for TNA. The IWC believes that the WWE had something to do with TNA firing Gail Kim. My point was that I don't believe that WWE had anything to do with TNA firing Gail Kim today. It got off the rails a bit, but that was my point: I don't believe that WWE was involved in the firing of Gail Kim by TNA as many in the IWC believes that they did.

It's interesting on NXT, there's Oba, Je'Von and Trick all circling each other with the NXT title and Dark State in the mix, and Ethan Page is being filtered into the Ricky Saints and Spears North American title program, surely HBK isn't going to book another 2 Triple Threats for Stand and Deliver.

Last nights show was all about Stephanie Vaquer though, first person to successfully defend 2 singles titles in one night. :D The show was bookended by her defenses and they played into each other with Fatal Influence attacking Stephanie after she beat Jaida. It upped the drama in the main event and Stephanie showed her versatility, fighting from underneath, really selling the ribs before overcoming Falon and her sidekicks. In the aftermath Jordynne Grace saved her from another Fatal Influence attack, and Jaida ran in on Jordynne but got dispatched, leading to a staredown between Stephanie and Jordynne with Jaida looking on, please not another Triple threat at Stand and Deliver. 🙏

And we still do not know who is facing Fraxiom and the rest of the Women's Locker Room wants a shot at Stephanie too.

Swerve said Top Dollar/AJ Francis got Hit Row released.

Dollar got heat with management and some of the guys on the roster. It lead to the whole group getting canned.

VladTV is an interesting place for him to talk about that stuff.

The WWE did bring back B-Fab and Ashante Adonis.

Evolve tonight had a masked female wrestler named Kalyx, who was in a tag team with Haze Jameson. So why did I mention Kalyx? Well, reports are that Kalyx is referee Jessika Carr. Also, Timothy Thatcher wrestled in the main event tonight. He was in NXT in from 2020 to 2021 but is now back as a coach/trainer for WWE ID. NXT Assistant GM Stevie Turner is now the GM for Evolve, much to the consternation of Evolve Color Commentator Robert Stone.

I need to start watching this. I've seen Jessika wrestle she's pretty good. Was trained by the Dudleys

I don't know if Saraya/Paige has a non-compete clause, but if she doesn't I wonder if she could appear on Smackdown in London tomorrow to back up Zelina. 🤔

I heard Jessika was wrestling but had no idea KaylaX was her. She looks more toned up.

Stevie as Evolve GM seems look a good idea if she isn't going to wrestle.

Never thought I would see Timothy back in WWE. Triple H has been collecting a lot of the NXT talent he had to let go at some point. Would love to see Thacher share the ring with his ringkamf stablemates Ludwig Kaiser and Gunther in WWE.

Every Timothy Thatcher match in the Indies against ID talent has been designated as a WWE ID Showcase match. WWE ID has started their championship tournaments, and while I don't know how they are going to do it with only 4 women (probably only three matches), they have 15 men who are ID'd but Thatcher as ID coach means that there will be a 16 man tournament.

it's different than LVL Up in that it actually has storylines and feuds building, which LVL Up did not have.
