A New Era for the Wrestling Thread

The Rock lied.

Once again, professional wrestlers are literally professional liars. It's literally their job.

I ultimately think he was pissed they didn't want to turn Cody heel (including Cody himself), so he ****ed the whole thing over by agreeing to be involved in the Cena turn and then dipped out afterwards, knowing full well that was going to **** over the Mania match and leave everyone to fend for themselves. He knew exactly what he was doing. He knew what the reaction was going to be, and now he went on Pat's show to do damage control.

HHH and Rock are having a power struggle and playing power games with each other.

HHH did the same thing by having Cody win the 2024 Royal Rumble, even though he knew by that point that TKO wanted to finally pull the trigger on Rock vs. Roman because the Hollywood strikes opened up Rock's schedule. He knew the backlash to having Cody having his WrestleMania main event stolen right as the "finish the story" angle was peaking would be even more massive if he had Cody win the Rumble, giving them NO room to get Cody out of it without massive backlash. Even though Cody looked like an idiot for a couple of weeks for giving Rock his match, he still booked it because he wanted the fans to turn on the Rock vs. Roman thing so he could get what he wanted to originally book booked. And then Rock one upped him by agreeing to turn heel and become this Final Boss character so he could steal the Mania build out from everyone.

Rock and HHH are playing chess with each other and ****ing up the main storylines because of it. Its becoming detrimental to the product.

Roxanne is main roster bound for sure.

Also, I believe in Joe Hendry.

For the Wrestlemania 42 main event, we're going to get a 60 minute WWE Booking on a Pole Iron Man match between those two.

Also, since Heyman and Trips like him, the idea of Aleister Black joining Seth's Revolution is a Mystery faction doesn't sound so bad in my head.

Honestly... I can't believe the biggest angle in decades (John Cena turning heel) got botched because Rock and HHH can't get on the same page creatively. I call bull**** on the whole "my work is done" thing. You don't walk away from the angle at that point and then leave Cena and Cody to fend for themselves.

Cena's heel turn was botched from the start because they went with the laziest possible explanation for it. Cena blaming the fans would've worked a decade ago but its 2025 which makes this whole angle feel forced. I don't know who's idea it was for this heel turn but its been a trainwreck to watch.

Rock is just working and going into business for himself so nothing surprising there.

The issue there is that Triple H can't wrestle anymore because he has a pacemaker. If he didn't have that pacemaker, a match between Triple H and the Rock would not be out of the realm of possibility, but that pacemaker eliminates any chances Triple H steps into the ring ever again. He's done.

Two days after he had a three minute match with Randy Orton, Joe Hendry looks to be Oba Femi's next challenger for the NXT Championship.

And we are headed to a triple threat between Stephanie Vaquer, Guilia and Jordynne Grace.

Also, Inamura is quite a sneaky SOB lol.

Joe Hendry popped up in NXT again last night, to get in Trick and Oba's business. Looks like we might get Hendry vs Oba at Battleground, and Trick finally pulled the trigger on his heel turn, which is the fresh twist I think he needs.

I wish they'd taken a but longer to build Ricky Saints vs Lexis King.

Roxanne is main roster bound for sure.

She better be, great match between her and Stephanie but that's 4 clean jobs in a row, twice as many as Lyra did before her call up.

Ah the old Wrestling Threads its been years. IDK if anyone remembers me, but I used to be a regular hope all is well. WrestleMania was a mixed bag.

I do remember you, used to have an Incredibles avatar?

And we still don’t known exactly what “selling your soul” entails.

Apparently it translates to having slow, plodding grandad matches.

I loved that Inamura did a sob story to Ava that his time in NXT is about to come to an end, only for it to be an old Japanese trick to get him and Josh Briggs a shot at the tag team titles. I laughed when Inamura said it was an old Japanese trick.

So with Trick going heel, and apparently heading to the main roster, do you think he'll join Seth? I mean Seth's whole thing was about shaping the future of this business, so why not grab someone from NXT?

Some think it will be Nathan Fraser because Seth trained Fraser.

After this past weekend I have an actual top 3 opening matches in Wrestlemania history.

1. Iyo Sky vs Bianca Belair vs Rhea Ripley - Wrestlemania 41

2. Bret vs Owen - Wrestlemania X

3. Daniel Bryan vs Triple H - Wrestlemania 30

Fraxion need to come to the main roster as a team, they're both really small and will get lost in the shuffle as singles wrestlers.

They're even smaller than the MCMG.

Trick is going to main event a Wrestlemania one day.

That's because Cena has overthought what should be a simple motivation.

He sold his soul to The Rock because he wanted World title #17 and couldn't get it by being a good guy anymore.

He's Darth Vader. Rock is Emperor Palpatine. Cody is Luke. That is what the story should be.

But Rock pulled out of the whole thing not only physically, but also in terms of creative, which I why I suspect we got all those "you people" promos from Cena and why the motivations for Cena seem all over the place (because HHH just seems content with letting Cena come up with his own creative). You can't be Darth Vader without the Empire backing you up and without Palpatine pulling the strings. Rock pulling out of this completely ****ed over the whole thing.

Am I the only one who thinks the TNA title was the nicest looking championship all Wrestlemania weekend?
