A New Era for the Wrestling Thread

@TheVileOne Oh you misunderstand me. I thought Bad Bunny did great in his matches and have praised him. I just never would have booked him in one in the first place.

I was there for his debut match at Mania 37 with Priest vs Miz and Morrison. I loved his match with Priest at Backlash Puerto Rico

Sorry I misunderstood and thank you for clarifying.

Bored?! Absolutely not.

You actually verbalized everything I feel about Trips, from his time as an active wrestler to now, I agree fully lol.

I think the thing that sums Trips up is that you never really hear his peers putting him on their greats list, and despite being a politician, by all accounts he was a clean living pro, he never acted up in the ring, he didn't show up off his head or leave when he wasn't happy. Conversely Shawn was by most accounts very problematic to deal with, he could be unprofessional in and out of the ring, yet I've heard so many interviews from people he worked with that start "I hated the guy, but he's the greatest performer I've ever seen"....when even your haters find your talent undeniable, that's greatness, even people who like Trips don't have him on any version of Mount Rushmore.

Did anyone notice during H's hall of fame speech he thanked 642,841 people but not The Rock?

I heard about that and there's gotta be something in it as him and Rock came up parallel to each other, they were each other's main dance partner for 5 years, from the IC title to the WWE title.

I actually just watched Wrestlemania 37 the other day after our discussion, Bad Bunny certainly did well, the problem is that him and Travis Scott both look like the impact of the anus combustion wind of a spicy fart could kill them.

Exactly. Like I have no problem with Shaq in a battle royal for example.

My friend you are truly a wordsmith :funny:

Yeah, if they must wrestle then leave it at a Battle Royal, not having actual matches, unless you're actually adept at it like Amell and ****head Paul.

Happy for Zelina, I still say she could be the female Rey Mysterio if they book her right… She’s much better in the ring than people give her credit for, solid on the mic and obviously not too bad to look at… Glad she’s getting a push, they missed the boat with her after that match in Puerto Rico awhile back, hopefully they let her have a decent run this time…

They kept it simple with Aleister Black, he gets his entrance and theme music back which is a huge plus… He didn’t quite hit the Black Mass clean (No hate on Miz but I think he walked into it too much) but it looks like they’re going to treat it as a knock out shot which it should be, one of the best finisher’s in wrestling IMO… Like I said, don’t hate Miz, he won me over a few years back but would have been cool to see Black start higher up the ranks… Miz is a good solid hand to start off with though… Looking like Black’s gonna be a tweener leaning face out of the gates, I like it so far…

Disappointed that Drew’s still stuck in the midcard… He’s the best heel in wrestling IMO… He needs something with more meat on the bones… Fatu, Drew and Knight isn’t terrible for a 3-way U.S. title scene… But I still couldn’t care less about Priest, which it looks like he’s stuck with again… I don’t know, just feels like Drew should be doing something more..

I want to give some credit to LA Knight. I thought his match with Jacob at Mania, as well as his match and promo on Smackdown have been some of his best work.

Zelina has always connected with the fans and been a good underdog babyface. Even as a heel doing the Queen of the Ring schtick with the fake British accent was entertaining. Plus she gets a lot of adoration from the gaming and anime communities as she's big in those spaces, and the cosplay community. It's something WWE should seize on more with her, similar to New Day.

She just needs a sustained push. Or they should book her rematch with Chelsea at Backlash. Give them a nice spot at the PLE.

I couldn't agree more with this whole post

Now this is what I don’t like and also something I noticed online.

Some of these fans want Charlotte and Bianca “humbled” for whatever reason. Why must these women humble themselves for these people? It’s ridiculous.

I would tell her, go out there, be Charlotte, the nepo baby Queen of the ring and be the best heel you could be and let them deal with it.

I don't know the reason with Bianca, is it because they are booked to win so much? I mean I've seen the Rhea Hogan stuff online as well.

With Charlotte I think it's how cold, entitled and arrogant she comes across, now I'd agree that she should lean into the perception of her and use it to be a great heel, but I think she's got this insecurity beneath the bravado and wants to be loved.

100%

And I think that SmackDown in Chicago with the whole arena booing her and Tiffy getting her lick back on the mic really shook her.
