I apologize if there is one, but I don't see it. Isn't anyone picking this up? 100,000 kryptonians on earth! think of it like "Road to Civil War" only better this time

I've been digging the potential that the story's been building so far, even if I haven't exactly been dazzled by the execution. There's a lot of room for some big angles, what with the faction of Zod sympathizers, the seeming reunion of the classic Luthor/Brainiac team, and with the rogue branch of the military planning to wipe them all out. If they did it right, this could be huge. As it is right now, it feels like just an afterthought while Final Crisis is going on.

what this story has turned into has been pretty meh. i love the idea, and i think it can end well....but right now....ehhh.

Well, the stuff between Supes and Zod has finally started to pick up at least. I'm still not sure how much of this couldn't have just been done without the 9 months of build-up, though. While it's hardly the worst Superman story I've ever read, it certainly has been awfully anti-climactic.

I'd like to dig a hole and bury it.

Then go ahead and do just that.

I've been enjoying the shenanigans over in Action, Superman and Supergirl more than I have WoNK especially with the last issues of each respective series, but it's still been a good read. The one thing I'm enjoying about it the most is that it's something that seems to be highlighting how appreciative Kal is of his earth values and that this is why there could never be another Superman.

when is this story line supposed to be over and what damage will it do to continuity?

Will a reboot of the entire franchise be needed to fix it? The only thing separating this story line from the proposed script by McG is the absence of Ty-Zor.

Dude, it's one storyline. Superman's survived much worse treatment than what they're doing with him now, and considering the state a lot of other heroes are in these days, Supes is faring pretty well. One arc that not everyone likes (even one that runs on way longer than it should have) does not mean that OMG SUPERMAN IS RUINED FOREVAR!!!

i think your getting pretty melodramatic about this.

This holds the potential to be excellent on film. The story is very creative and most of all, very epic.

Sad that Alura turned out to be a maniacal psycho after Zor-El was killed. I like that Superman remained reasonable through it all. We have the threat of Superwoman, Lex, Mr. Lane, Doomsday, Zod, Non, Ursa, and New Krypton itself. I wouldn't suggest fitting this all into one film... more like a trilogy.

Likely never going to happen, but it's fun to imagine.

you'd need more than a trilogy, you'd need to set it up with Brainiac, then do a new krypton movie, then a world of new krypton movie, possibly a supergirl movie and one for the upcoming conclusion and that is ignoring what happens on earth without superman

I have been wondering if this story was good. I thought the original idea is good and the consequences of this are great !
Is the rythm of the story not "too calm" ?
Could those who find it horrible explain a bit more deeply what is horrible ?

Not if you did some bridging. If an epic like LOTR can be translated to the big screen like it was, then this could.

Also. . . you don't have to do too much introduction. Not every character in the cast needs a backstory leading up to New Krypton. I hadn't been closely following Action comics or its spin-offs for quite some time prior to reading New Krypton, and there was never a moment where I was asking myself what was supposed to be going on. It stands on its own.

I'm reserving judgment until it's over, but at the moment I don't have anything particularly negative to say.

I have a few of the issues, but they are not in order. I'm waiting to get them all so I don't get confused and what not.

How is it up to date?

Zod has been shot in the middle of kryptonian ceremony leading into the codename:Patrot crossover

the last 2 issues of this arc have been great improvements!! they've been quite good, i hope this quality continues. the last page of today's issue got me quite excited.

so do you guys believe zod planned his own assassination? Maybe, but something Kal said stuck out. He remarked that with Zod out, control of Krypton forces now belong to Kal and the liutenants. That doesn't seem like a move Zod would make, handing the reigns over to his arch rival. Even Ursa appears to be still under Kal's command.

Who benefits? Maybe someone who saw the potential for treachery in Zod, and maybe feared a repeat of what happened on old Krypton, with Zod attempting to overthrow the ruling council, or in this case Allura Zor-El!! She may not always see eye-to-eye with Kal, but at least she would not have to fear a mutiny from him. And it's clear that now the House of El has cemented a hold on the future of New Krypton/

I've officially dropped the Superman titles. When this storyline is over, I'll come back to re-evaluate whether it's worth staying with it.

I would love it if DiDio would just leave and let someone like Giordano come back in and run things... Love it even more if Dini were given the reigns.

this is interesting.. I'm guessing by the lack of posts in about a month that a lot of comics readers have ALSO lost interest in the New Krypton stuff.

Just found this thread. I just started reading the New Krypton arc. The story's intriguing with Superman adapting to his people's culture. Zod come across as more interesting as well.

When does this New Krypton arc end?

seems like New Earth Vs. New Krypton is up next in 2010. My advice to you is to just stop spending your extra money on Superman comics and do something else with it instead if you loathe this direction so much because it's not letting up anytime soon.
