The Dark Knight Rises A Nostalgia Thread for The Dark Knight Trilogy

Unfortunately for me I only joined the hype in December so missed all the crazy stuff in the build up to Batman Begins and The Dark Knight however I managed to catch a decent amount for Rises.

So I created this thread to talk about the awesome/awful/crazy speculation and rumours for the build up to the films in this trilogy. Anything you heard or predicted? As I'd love to hear the stuff that was floating around for the first two films.

The main thing I remember for TDKR was that there was a rumoured scene that involved Bane killing/injuring Alfred and strapping him to the Batsignal (in a callback to Falcone in Begins. One of the photos of Batman looking to the sky was rumoured to be from this scene.

I remember a script leak; the "script" had Talia, Black Mask, Killer Croc and possible Riddler. I can't remember if Riddler was in that one. I don't think I'll ever forget the Deacon Blackfire stuff, though.

I remember the days of "Teh puffy" when we first saw Bale in the Begins suit.

I remember the uproar when this pic was released:

It's been a hell of a ride being here for these three movies.

It was because, and I quote "The red lip make up looks too sloppy", "There's no green hair" etc etc.

I also remember there being an uproar when Heath Ledger was chosen for the Joker. The same thing happened when Anne Hathaway was chosen for Catwoman.

I remember the ****storm when TDKR's teaser was released. It seemed that everyone hated it.

That first Joker pic used to creep me out.

I wish we could go back in time and witness Begins and TDK for the first time again.

Wasn't here for the hype for BB but two things that stick out to me:

1. The first picture of Heath as the Joker released (posted by The Joker in this thread) and the ****storm that created. How Heath and that character were completely written off by so many.

2. Quite a few posters here who were so adamant that no chance in hell would the LOS be used again in TDKR and even less of a chance in hell that Marion was actually Talia.

I don't think we'll ever forget all the Joseph-Gordon Levitt rumours about who he was playing.

Who remembers when they were saying he worked undercover for the LoS or would get shot in the head Inception style?

Yep apparantely a very reliable source said they filmed a Blake scene where Blake gets shot in the head from nowhere.

I heard he was playing Falcone's son and a serial killer

Yeah, it was "confirmed" he was playing Alberto Falcone/Holiday Killer.

First official picture of Batman. Analysed to death:

First update of the official website...pictures of the new Batmobile. Caused quite a s**tstorm:

Followed by a few more pictures of Batman. Mellowed the angry mob at the Hype Batman forums a little:

Then we got this pic from an MSNBC article...and there was no going back. It changed things...forever:

I've only been here for TDKR but one thing I'll never forget was that day in July... when Knight_Rises came on the scene... Now THAT was a crazy night. Wish I could find the picture he posted though. Lol

This guy Knight_Rises was a guy who claimed he worked at a theater and was gonna get a bootleg copy of the teaser for us that played before HP7. And was giving us updates as if he was at the theater. It must've been almost all night we waited and it had everyone divided in groups of people that believed him and those that didn't. He even went so far as to post a picture of inside the "theater" only for someone to point out that it was taken off google images. So basically he trolled the entire board pretty much all night. It was hell. Lol
