A picture of Matt Damon as Captain Kirk!!

I think the idea is good of basically redoing everything. I can see Matt as Kirk. If he would do it, I think he could make it work well.

That's a great casting choice, I hope Abrams can get him.

I don't understand the notion of casting someone who's 36 to play the "younger version" of a character made famous by an actor who started playing him when he was 35.

Their supposed to be in Starfleet academy? Isnt' that like space college? Get a frigging 20 year old.

Shawn Ashmore is a name actor who doesn't look nearly as dissimilar from Shatner as Matt Damon and could pass for college age.

In addition of course to being a fellow Canadian to Bill.

This movie will FLOP.

The mainstream audience, the general public, DO NOT WANT TO WATCH STAR TREK. How many times?!

I'd watch a movie that reunited the original Star Trek cast, but I have no interest at all in other actors playing those roles

Why the fck would they Nolanize the original "Star Trek" TV Series?

There was absolutely NOTHING wrong with it. There is no need for a reboot.

There is only one Kirk: William Shatner. Only one Spock: Leonard Nimoy.

Ashmore would make a bad kirk.

Somebody catch me up. .....WTF? They're remaking Start Trek?!?!?!

Won't work. Star Trek is about going forward, exploring what we can be. Not where we came from. Star Trek and prequel, not good.

When you make a movie that's as god-awful as Nemesis, what choice do you have?

yeah, they're not "nolanizing" (which is still a really stupid term, by the way) anything, it's a prequel...

Nothing personal against Star Trek, but seriously....

STAR TREK, JUST **** OFF.

Well I agree with that unfourtantley its got a huge fanbase that will embrace whatever spin off Paramount gives them next TV or Movies

JJ Abrams can make anything golden. He even managed to make a good Mission Impossible sequel. I say give him the benifet of the doubt.
