He totally contradicted himself(bruce glover) first he asks when have you ever seen heath ledger excited in a movie, hes a dopey faced guy, then he says sean penn would make a good joker, is he nuts, sean penn is so depressed in all his movies, and he would not make a good joker..

To be fair to many people, some posters knew Ledger was a good actor, but weren't sure how he'd fit into the part. I was one of them. I fully acknowledged that Ledger was talented (he probably should have won that Oscar for "Brokeback"), but the casting was so out of left-field, it was so weird, a lot of people didn't know how to react.

Clearly, Ledger was right for the part. Though we haven't seen the whole role yet, if the trailer is any indication, he's nailed it.

And, for the record, I was never for Crispin Glover. Yeah, he's Joker-ish, but he's also not that great of an actor. He'd ham it up worse than Romero. I was in Bettany's camp the whole way.

That's what I was thinking when I first saw the trailer. "In your face, non-believers!" Then I read a lot of messages like: I had my doubts, but... Ledger convinced me in the trailer. That's great, IMHO.

God, even then i was pissed off. I mean what kind of closed-minded idiot thought that the joker was gonna be a gay stoic bland idiot, just because heath hasnt played a character like that! And because he was in brokeback mountain. And another thing, people werent stoked to hear that keaton was playing batman, but people are obsessed with him now. (Personally, i prefer Kevin COnroy and Bale, but to each his own.)
