For those who got to see "The Dark Knight" on July 15 due to the Viral Marketing Campain how was it like?

I remember it like it was yesterday....I'll never forget that night. And coming out of there seeing the best comic book movie and best performance of 2008 IMO :brucebat:

Indeed, it was a special night.

From the Joker cards being thrown out, to the trivia game w/ posters, to the moment of silence for Heath, to that nerdy kid dressed as the Joker.:cwink: Actually, SPIDERMAN117, your costume was awesome, as were the others.

I'll never forget it either.

Crossed my mind this week, can't believe that was already a year ago.

Went to work, waited in line from 7pm to 9pm, mind was blown. :yay:

Ha. Remember the entrance I made? that was awesome

seriously, i miss these viral games like crazy. I mean, they gave me something to do when i had nothing to do lol. I can't believe it was a year ago. one of the best nights/summers of my life. I need a batman 3 announcement soon :(

the theater I went to had an elevator up to the IMAX room. and I basically did the entrance Joker did in Dark Knight when he crashed Harveys Party

I just happened to be flying back from LA into Atlanta that night. I got off the plane, got my bags, got on the train to get my car, and hauled ass to the Mall of Georgia 20 minutes before the movie started, got a decent seat and had my mind blown. can't believe it was a year ago..

It's hard to believe that it's really been an entire year. I remember the night vividly. It was definitely memorable, I got to Pointe Orlando IMAX nearly seven hours early and waited, met some cool people, and had my mind blown away. Plus, I was ticket 3 out of 243, pretty impressive. :cwink:

Nice. Did you do "Good evening, ladies and gentlemen."?

Yeah. And I got to kick someone out of the elevator too. it was grrrrrrrrreat

That's awesome SPIDERMAN117.

Things were better back then. What do we have now.....Jimmy Fallon? pssh.

:lmao: That sounds AWESOME.

I feel so far removed from that kind of insanity already, after reading how people waited from 8pm to make Harry Potter midnight screenings last night. "That sounds crazy! Oh wait, that was me last year. :o"

The nostalgia causes my eyes to sting with tears. :(

It was awesome, epic, exciting and will never be able to be repeated...at least not until B3...

Anyone find themselves depressed thinking about this? I do...

I saw the pre-screening in Toronto. It was one of the best film experiences I ever had. You could have heard a pin drop in the theatre when the opening credits began.

I remember throwing the biggest fanboy rant of all time to my friend because we both couldn't get the early viral tickets lol.

I followed the virals since day 1 and I was literally yelling saying how the only reason all the tickets are gone are because all the hot topic aficionados jumped on the bandwagon after Heath's passing. I want to go back in time and slap myself.

But we went to a fantastic IMAX midnight release. The theater really went out of it's way to make it such a great experience. I even won a costume contest and got a poster. We waited in line for about 4 hours. I remember it was 10 minutes until midnight and I thought I was honestly going to pee myself. My friend tried to talk me through the last few minutes like I was going into cardiac arrest. It was the best movie experience of my life. I'd do anything to experience that same night again.

So here's Batman 3!

LOL I remember being out to Disneyland with my sister that day, thinking it was just going to be another puzzle, and seeing that it was going to be a pre-screening and that all the tickets were gone!

And of course my surprise when I found a bunch of PMs waiting for me when I got home, courtesy of SHHers who were willing to have me as their guest since I was the Wiki girl. :yay: Even Rent-a-clown girl from 42E was like, "Somebody get Anita a ticket!" :funny:

i'll never forget the opening credits at the midnight release. everyone was thinking "holy ****..." lol

Me neither...Waiting on the floor outside of the KOP IMAX theater...finally being let in after 3 hrs...and after what seemed like an eternity, midnight struck, the lights went down....and *mind blown.*

awesome memories.

While not directly related to The Dark Knight, I just found that 42E has put up a general rabbit hole. You can sign up and automatically be "in-game" for future viral campaigns.

I signed up, based on what they did with Why So Serious.

Yeah, greatest movie experience of my life. Amazing. There will probably never be another movie that I will follow like this one. Spring 2007, the viral games begin...going to Chicago in August to see them filming, the release of that jaw-dropping trailer in December, Heath's death in 2008, and all the crazy viral climaxes and promos before July...and then, the spectacular critical reviews and record-breaking box office performance! Like a dream come true.

I'm hoping *fingers crossed* that Batman 3 will do the same for me...still, nothing like the anticipation and excitement of Ledger as the Joker!
