ABC's 'Emergence'

A character-driven genre thriller, “Emergence” is about a police chief who takes in a young child she finds near the site of a mysterious accident who has no memory of what has happened. The investigation draws her into a conspiracy larger than she ever imagined, and the child’s identity is at the center of it all.

Rats, for a moment there I thought ABC was rebooting the paramedic show "Emergency".

The premise looks interesting but I already feel like it'll be the same as The Blacklist and Blindspot where they just drag the story out and avoid giving any real answers as things get more and more convoluted.

I mostly watch Abc shows but I think this might be the first TV season that i don't watch their new fall shows. Emergence and Stumptown don't really interest me. I watched The Rookie, A Little More Things and Whiskey Cavalier.

So, the season finale was last night. I thought the earlier/setup episodes were modestly intriguing and enjoyable. And it seemed to be leaning towards a hard sci-fi sensibility (my preference). But as the series progressed, it got more fantastical. And more predictable.
