The Whispers (Drama)
EPs | Steven Spielberg, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Dawn Olmstead
CAST | Lily Rabe, Barry Sloane, Milo Ventimiglia, Derek Webster, Brianna Brown, Catalina Denis, Kylie Rogers, Kyle Harrison Breitkopf
A drama about an alien invasion, in which earth’s enemies possess children’s bodies to take down humanity.
Based on a Ray Bradbury story, directed by Mark Romanek and with a lead cast of Lily Rabe, Barry Sloane and Milo V. I'm in. At the very least for the first episode.

The premise is tricky but if they pull it off this will be pretty cool.

“THE WHISPERS”

Aliens have invaded Earth by using our most unlikely resource to achieve world domination—our children. As the kids unwittingly help these unseen enemies, the clock counts down in this suspenseful race to save humanity.

“The Whispers” stars Lily Rabe as Claire Bennigan, Barry Sloane as Wes Lawrence, Milo Ventimiglia as John Doe/Drew Bennigan, Derek Webster as Jessup Rollins, Brianna Brown as Lena Lawrence, Catalina Denis as Dr. Maria Martinez, Kylie Rogers as Minx Lawrence and Kyle Harrison Breitkopf as Henry.

“The Whispers” was written and co-executive-produced by Soo Hugh. Executive Producers are Amblin TV, Steven Spielberg, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank and Dawn Olmstead. “The Whispers” was directed by Mark Romanek and produced by ABC Studios.
Kind of giving away John Doe's identity there, ABC... :o

And Lily Rabe looking probably the most modern I've ever seen her look on TV.

I'm not having any high expectations but I'll be giving this a shot solely for Lily Rabe. I had no idea Romanek directed the pilot (still a dame shame about Locke & Key).

Really hinges on the child actors' performance. Like how Touch went south when the central kid got less awe-inspiring as intended and more annoying.

Looks good. Sloane's American accent ain't bad.

Are you still not able to see it? I figured that's why my post was edited...

:funny:

No, I edited your post because it was showing as a white box, it was after that when the trailer box showed that I found out that I couldn't view it. :(

I don't know how to help. Maybe the ABC website?

Anything official from them is blocked, hopefully some tech savvy person rips it and sticks it on Youtube without a blocker.

Saw it! Looks damn good, the kids came off well in the footage shown so that was the biggest obstacle out of the way IMO. I did get a feel of The Event about it, hope it can keep the story moving apace.

New ABC Drama ‘The Whispers’ Leaves Los Angeles For Vancouver As California Still Grapples With Runaway Production
By NELLIE ANDREEVA

The cast of one newly picked broadcast series wasn’t exactly jumping for joy during upfront week. That’s when the actors from the ABC alien drama The Whispers, which stars Milo Ventimiglia, Lily Rabe and Barry Sloane, found out that the series would be moving to Vancouver after filming the pilot in Los Angeles. I hear several members of the cast were not happy, and conversations are still ongoing with the series’ producer, ABC Studios. In the end, all actors will likely move or risk being sued for breach of contract. While I hear it wasn’t spelled out to the cast going into the pilot that the project will definitely move if picked up, there is nothing in the actors’ contracts that guarantees that the show would shoot in Los Angeles. Actually, I hear there is language that indicates that the show could move once ordered to series.

ABC's Alien Thriller The Whispers Makes Major Casting Change
By Michael Ausiello / June 11 2014, 12:29 PM PDT

ABC’s midseason drama The Whispers is undergoing a bit of a casting shake-up.

TVLine has learned exclusively that series regular Brianna Brown — who portrayed Lena, the photojournalist wife of Barry Sloane’s character, Wes, in the pilot — has exited the series for creative reasons.

The role will be recast and Brown’s scenes will be re-shot.

Produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin TV, The Whispers (fka The Visitors) chronicles a race against the clock to defeat an unseen alien enemy out to destroy the world by using the most unlikely and unsuspecting inhabitants on the planet: the children.

Brown’s previous credits include stints on Devious Maids, True Blood and General Hospital. She kicks off a recurring gig as FBI officer Juan Badillo’s widowed wife on USA Network’s Graceland on June 18.
With a title like that, I was worried it would be Barry Sloane or, worse, Lily Rabe. Thank Goodness.

Recast Scoop: House of Cards Actress Is Barry Sloane's New Whispers Wife
By Michael Ausiello / July 14 2014, 12:00 PM PDT

The Whispers is reshuffling the deck, tapping House of Cards‘ Kristen Connolly to take over the role of Barry Sloane’s onscreen spouse, TVLine has learned.

Brianna Brown (True Blood) played Lena in the pilot, but was let got shortly after ABC ordered The Whispers to series.

Produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin TV, The Whispers — which is slated to premiere at midseason — chronicles a race against the clock to defeat an unseen enemy out to destroy the world by using the most unlikely and unsuspecting inhabitants on the planet: the children.

The cast also includes Lily Rabe, Milo Ventimiglia, Derek Webster, Kylie Rogers and Kyle Harrison Breitkopf.

Wrapped on the first 4 eps of @TheWhispersABC directed by @CharlesBeeson & #GuillermoNavarro - Can't wait for you all to see them!
Guillermo Navarro?! :awesome::up:

They did a panel for it at the TCAs a while back, so I don't think so. The lack of premiere date makes me think it'll be a summer thing, though.

Good, it looked really promising from the trailer so I'm glad it's not a dud.
