There were pretty advanced plans and story ideas for a proposed Catwoman animated direct-to-video feature, a Batman direct-to-video movie and a LOBO animated series. Boyd Kirkland who's a producer/director/writer (Batman TAS, X-Men Evoloution) had some plans and Steve E.Gordon did some design work for it. For varying reasons they didn't go past the drawing board.

CATWOMAN direct-to-video animated.

From The World's Finest:

May 22nd, 2005

What did you have planned for The Catwoman feature, especially considering it looked to be based from a movie everyone hated? Is the project now dead?

I can only assume it’s dead, although I’ve heard nothing official. About a year before the Catwoman movie came out, Warner Animation asked me if I would be interested in developing a direct-to-video Catwoman movie to be released in the wake of the live action feature. I came up with a story about Selina Kyle, based loosely on an idea I had while developing another Batman video after SubZero. They liked it, and asked me to write an outline, which I did. Then, Warner Home Video decided it had to also include the new Catwoman portrayed by Halle Berry. They sent me the script for the movie so I could see who this new Catwoman was. I had to completely rethink my story, but still managed to retain the central premise. I wrote a complete script, which portrayed how these two women meet, and discover more about themselves. It delved much deeper into the Egyptian mythology set up in the Catwoman movie. I think it would have made a pretty entertaining video. Too bad the live action film did so poorly, as that pretty much killed any chance of my script ever getting made.

God, that Batman looks cool! I would have loved to have seen a show in that style. My only problem with the 90's show was how bulky the made Batman. Steven Gordon's style seemed like just what I was looking for.

The other two shows looked pretty cool as well.

The Batman pic is pretty cool, but I don't like that Joker.

Thank God about the Catwoman one being scrapped. I liked the Selina Kyle design but I don't like her loose hair. And the Joker sucks in the Batman art, but I would have watched it.

I had heard there was an intended Catwoman direct-to-video feature that was planned but then scrapped. I am glad they did scrap it based on that. It is something that could so easily be done and done very well, but because of one crappy movie, it probably won't happen.

Wow, the Batman: Asylum was nice. Was the plot going to be based on Arkham Asylum? One can only hope that something like that gets made.

I actually really like this Joker pic

that is so much better than the Joker from "The Batman". I'd have liked to see this.

I really like the Batman he did as well. It's really harkens back to Kane and Finger's original costume but without some of the more jarring aspects about it.

Not digging the look of the Joker, but aside from that, the Batman series looked pretty damn good. Hate they didn't do it.

The Catwoman series would have sucked, simply because, even if it didn't suck, it would have kept the crappiness of CINO alive...and we can't have that.

I'm honestly more excited about the Lobo series than anything. If that were handled correctly, and put on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim, it would be awesome.

I agree. It doesnt look like he'll be getting the live-action treatment anytime so by all means.

I hope WB let Steven E Gordon do "Batman: Asylum" and like the designs better then "The Batman" :bat:
