Transformers about Prime's faceplate...

i actually really liked it. i couldn't imagine Prime talking with a faceplate on the entire time anymore. if he kept his faceplate up the whole movie it would've been kinda corny to me.

my only complaint is that we didn't see ENOUGH of the faceplate. we barely saw Prime's face when he was fighting.

In a world where the masked Darth Vader is one of the most engaging villains in film history, there is absolutely no decent reason for an Optimus with lips...other than change for the sake of change.

Its a comparison of the characters ability to express without facial motions. Is it that hard to grasp?

The reason why it worked on Darth Vader was because he was portrayed as evil, so the lack of emotional connection helped with that. Notice that when we were supposed to connect with him, during his death, his mask was off. I don't know, I guess I thought that was easy to grasp.
