about the new Joker Posters for TDK......

Well I just recently bought the Theatrical double sided poster of batman in front of the burning building, but now I want a joker one to go with it. For me , its appearant its one of two choices, its either the joker one where he is standing in the middle of the street with a machine gun or its the other huge poster that has his head tilted to the side as the city is in the background and their are flames in the lower right hand corner.

So now my question is, what are the official sizes for these posters? Are any of them 27 by 40 Double sided, cause those are usually the ones I go for. I don't feel like buying something fake off ebay for some ridiculous price. So if anyone knows the official sizes of those posters please let me know, cause truth be told, buying the Joker one is really important to me due to him being my favourite villain and also now that Heath has passed away , I want this to remember his last role.

as far as I know, 27 x 40 is the official size. I've got that size of the "why so serious?" double-sided, and I love it

All of mine are the theatrical posters and are 27 x 40.

Ya those along with the teaser posters are the ones I always see in 27 by 40 DS size. Its just those joker ones that I wanted (the one with the machine gun and the other one with his face turned and there were flames down in the corner) are very hard to come by in these sizes, so now i am starting to think its not there standard size.

Sorry I couldn't show the pictures directly, I........unfortunately don't know how. I fooled around a few times but couldn't get them in. Anyways, yea if anyone knows what the standard sizes are for those posters please let me know, cause I want to buy authentic studio ones. Also which joker poster do you guys like better, for some reason I have a hard time deciding myself, they are both pretty sick!!

The only posters that have been released domestically have been the Teaser A (Why So Serious? on the building), Teaser B (Joker behind frosted glass), Release A (Burning building) and Release B (Batpod). These will all be 27x40 and double sided if they are authentic. There are a ton of scalpers on eBay listing reprints, but if you want the best image quality, you will need to look for sellers that specifically list their posters as being the correct size AND double sided.

The posters with Batman looking out the windows over Gotham and Joker standing in the street are international images that are released by the studios for overseas theatres to do with what they will. I have seen a few "double sided" versions of the Batman international image, but only single sided smaller posters on the Joker in the street. There are MANY overseas sellers (mostly out of Hong Kong) that have manipulated certain images to create posters, banners, etc. Someone took the burning building image and pasted Joker into it, changing the tag at the top to, "Welcome to MY world without rules". Great image, but not at all official.

Very rarely studios will release some single sided promotional posters that will still be 27x40, but I have not seen this recently. Definitely not for The Dark Knight. Having worked in theatres for over ten years now, my poster collection is INSANELY large and I only collect and trade authentic theatrical versions. Got all four Dark Knight posters as well as the "faces" banner and the banner with Joker in the street with the gun. Could have the Batpod standee, but that thing is not fitting anywhere in my home. Gonna give that one to a local comic shop.

Even with all these rules, people still manage to make fake posters, just be wary if it doesn't say that it is a real poster or doesn't list whether or not it is a re-print. I have seen a few good 27x40 DS posters and they don't specify its condition and when you email them they will say reproduction.

I have used him for a few years and he is legit as far as I know or he is a really great scam artist.

Some sites have ridiculous prices for these things. moviegoods.com, movieposter.com....all 80 dollars on up for authentic versions. However, I found some decent priced ones at moviestore.com. But they only have 3 versions (burning, batpod, and Joker).

Yeah, it's unfortunate. I bought my Why So Serious poster from one of those sites when they were only like $25, 20x47 double sided official... I think the day after I recieved it in the mail, Heath Ledger died and prices haven't been the same, since.

I still get chills when I look at mine sometimes.

The image quality is a bit poor (not crisp) but only on the image of Heath and the logo for the film- the names and studio info at top and bottom are fine. As is my other Taxi Driver poster that got delivered at the same time.

Im just wondering if anyone else owns the poster that I received in the post? How is the quality of yours- especially the parts of the poster I mentioned above?? Is this just a general thing with this poster (maybe due to Heaths unfortunate death?) or is this just bad printing on the part of my poster - despite the seller listing it as official

Read JackLucas's post above. The poster you purchased is not one of the official 27x40 dual-sided domestic ones.

I thought it may not be official, my main problem is whether or not the image printed is just a bad print of a good image or just a bad image full stop.

Im guessing other people have picked up these non-official posters from ebay, so could anyone confirm whether theres is the same or should I get in touch with the company that sold it me and complain?

As for the official posters, UK website Play.com have the burning builing/joker with machine gun/batpod posters for sale- released on the 15/08. Im guessing play dont sell fakes, and while they obviously wont be the theatrical double sided prints- these poster are coming in some official form

I was wondering the same thing. I don't buy posters off ebay, mainly because I know it's rife with fakes, but Play.com must get theirs from somewhere, I doubt WB would allow them to sell those unless they were official??

Im seeing complaints by people on Amazon about reprints. If its a reprint would this bother me in terms of quality compared to the original?
