there are a lot of actors that are good enough and i always wonder why they haven't, but then when i look at the roles they have gotten they aren't necessarily ones that oscars look at too often. like Sean Bean, that guys always gold but he hasn't really done anything that was the standout of the year either. same goes for Gary Oldman, though a best supporting nod would have been good for Leon

Edit: I checked and it looks like he's been nominated a few times actually. But he still hasn't won any Oscars yet...

Eh, Depp hasn't been oscarworthy in a long time.

DiCaprio though has turned has been super solid for a long time. He'll win eventually but I really hope its for a role that he actually deserves it in rather than a "We owe you" Oscar.

A lot of Oscars end up being legacy things because the actor has been snubbed for so long. Though I am shocked at Morgan Freeman not having one. ****, March of the Penguins he deserved on principle alone.
