And, ya know, a recurring role on Supernatural and an episode of Breaking Bad. He's great on Legit though

Yeah, I would agree. I liked her a lot in that movie because even though they made changes to Lauren from the book, I still felt she really nailed her despondent, passive nature.

To the person who mentioned Matthew Broderick, I'm pretty sure he took a break from acting indefinitely to help raise his child. He has plenty of money, but I think he's actually said in interviews that he enjoys helping raise the family and being there with them. Gotta' admire that.

Reminds me of Rick Moranis, another actor who some think just fell off the face of the planet, but in reality chose to leave acting when his wife died of cancer. It's too bad because I liked him a lot, but I can understand why he would want to do other things.

These are a couple examples of some actors who left acting on their own as opposed to disappearing because they couldn't find work. I'm sure there are lots of others.

Broderick is always popping up on screen in one project or another and of course he is part of the world of Broadway, so I really don't think he qualifies. TOWER HEIST was the last thing I remember him in and it only came out in 20011. DJ was on Memphis Beat, which again, was not that long ago. Shouldn't there be a bigger time away from the spotlight to qualify here? Also, shouldn't these be stars/actors that were pretty well known to have been missed in the first place? Sorry to say if you are a fan of these actors but I have no clue who Shannyn Sossoman or some of these others are.

With the exception of Alyson Hannigan, pretty much the entire cast of American Pie has disappeared into obscurity. Same goes for the cast of Dawson's Creek. I don't think I've seen Katie Holmes in anything since Batman Begins. And James Vanderbeek I don't think has done anything major since he played a serial killer with MPD on Criminal Minds.

She hasnt done any major blockbuster movies or anything but she has a steady career doing indie movies and has scored 2 oscar nominations after Ledger died. She also worked with Martin Scorsese.

Yeah Thundarr I don't know where you've been Williams has done quite a bit in the last few years, and was amazing as Monroe and even won a Golden Globe for that performance.

He's pretty good in Nymphomaniac, which is decent, and Charlie Countryman, which is not. I don't know if he made those films before his meltdown, though.

I totally forgot about Oz, The Great & Powerful. Maybe because I wasn't overly impressed with the movie.

I thought Van Der Beek had disappeared until The B**** in Apartment 23 (loved his twisted portrayal as himself in that)
then several guest spots on How I met Your Mother and some new sitcom that I think just started airing called Friends With Better Lives (haven't seen it), so he does seem to be around, at least on TV.
