Actors who should've or should play heroes

Just school plays.

Ah. That's pretty much the extent of my acting as well. I'm pretty good, though. I got leading roles in both plays (not THE leading role, but one of the main characters).

I personally couldn't pull off any hero. Maybe if I lost some weight and put on some muscle I could make a decent Dick Grayson, though I'm not athletic in any sense if the word.

But little Vigo would make a great Thor.ur funny.Stallone is the perfect punisher. But I guess u dont know the character well.Depp as banner is good.opinions are like you...i mean asshol*s.Just kidding

Stallone is like 5'3" and over the hill.

He's actually 5'7.

Not that it makes a difference.

He still would've kicked ass as The Punisher.

I just don't see it, Rambo aside.

Guys I'd like to see as Punisher:

Clive Owen
Jim Caviezel
Jason Isaacs
Michael Madsen

Hell even Eric Bana! (If you've ever seen 'Chopper' you'd agree.)

De Niro would've made the perfect Frank Castle. Give him the attitude Travis Bickle (except with a more heroic vibe rather than a murderous pyscho, obviously) and the build of Max Cady, and he's perfect.

You know, f'k what I said earlier!

DeNiro as Punisher would've been the SHYT!!!

 :)

It amazes me how a magazine can mention an actor for a role and some people just latch onto it like a dog with a bone even though it is a horrible choice. Then there are some who want to see an actor play a role because he played in a "similar" movie. These I just don't understand:

Viggo Mortenson as Thor - I've debated this with people but never had anyone give me a convincing argument. I almost wish they WOULD cast him as Thor so then I could hear all the Thor fans who wanted him for the role whine about how wrong for it he was. I mean, yeah he's a good actor and he was in LOTR but so were a lot of other people who would not fit the role! Do the fans really want a Thor who is smaller than Bale's Batman?!!

Oded Fuhr as Iron Man - Ok, he has dark hair and a goatee. Big deal. He's an ok actor. What makes him "perfect" for IM?!! I sure don't know!

Brad Pitt as Cap - Just...why?

The Rock as Namor - Again, why?

Diesel as SS - He's bald and has an athletic physique. I would demand a bit more of the actor that was to play MY favorite superhero.

I think we've had some really great casting choices so far in the movies as it's becomes extremely hard to think of anyone else in them roles, I find this especially difficult with the Punisher as I feel Tom Jane was perfect and really made the role his own, so when I hear choices like Deniro or michael madsen??? i think no way!

My best choice so far would be Johnny Depp as Tony Stark, personally him being my faviroute actor I could see him in almost every role as his acting talent is infinite but he has the right amount of confidence/sophistication and mystery to pull off Tony

I thought Stallone was 5'10".

Anyhow, Stallone turned 60 a few days ago. Happy birthday to ya Sly!

Would it anger people if Jim Caviezel played Captain America?

I always pictured Namor as ethnically vague or other, it gets tiring seeing movies with 'Unknown,Alien,Ancient races' and it's always some white guy in brown or blue make-up.

Not really if he could make a convincing blonde and buff up enough.

They probably have to make him a dirty blonde as opposed to a platinum blonde, just because his hair's so dark, like Superman dark.

Or, perhaps more fittingly, Iron Man/Tony Stark dark.

But I really wish they'd cast Jim as Superman. He'd have made a good Supes.

Well, I'm not sure what you mean;if the guy is blue I guess his real skin color wouldn't be an issue in the first place.

I always thought Namor looked vaguely Asian. Maybe it's just me. Anyway I guess the Rock could pull off the role looks-wise. My problem is I don't think he's good enough to act the part. Yeah he can play a tough guy but I don't think he could affect the right accent nor act the part of an "ancient monarch"(Scorpion King should've proved that!). I don't know exactly what kind of accent namor should have but I KNOW it SHOULDN'T be an American one which is the only one I'm convinced Rock could do. I know he should have a commanding, regal voice (note:LOUD does NOT=commanding!). The problem with most of these parts is everyone trhinks they have to be filled with a "known" actor. IMO, if you want to really find a great match, hold open casting calls and be willing to put unknowns in the major roles. Use marketing or name directors for drawing power. Also use known actors in supporting roles to draw viewers but make getting people who are right for the lead parts more important than filling those parts with a kjnown actor who isn't right for the role (ex: Jen Garner for Elektra=WRONG!).

Billy Crudup should be Iron Man.

He'd also be the perfect choice to replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.

I think The Rock is the most likely candidate for Namor mainly because of his fame. Besides, you need a pretty big name actor or director cause Namor isn't exactly Spider-Man.

I agree with that.

He'd made a mature, experienced Superman. Especially with the plot they went with on Superman Returns.

No arguement with that, but Namor doesn't really have the name recognition a Spider-man or Batman has, but maybe an unknown could pull it off. Also I'd rather a Asian or none european looking actor portray Namor.
