Superhero Hype! brother site ShockTillYouDrop.com visited the Vancouver set of Megan Fox horror pic Jennifer's Body and got some quotes from Adam Brody about the Justice League movie.

"I probably shouldn't be commenting on this, but who cares?" he said when asked about what happened to the Warner Bros. project that has George Miller attached to direct. " I don't totally know, I know there was a tax credit thing and I know that the initial writers strike was a hindrance. I know they've got Batman coming out and Singer wants another Superman - this is only speculation on my part, no inside knowledge on this - but as a fan I can understand how there's controversy whether to try and build those, or building the franchise together. I think between the tax credit and I think... I think maybe it'll still happen. I truly don't know any more than you guys do.

"I know Ryan Reynolds was attached to the Flash for a while, then I got the part and I read on the internet 'Oh, he's no Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Renolds is the only Flash!' If I don't do it and hopefully in a year or two it'll be someone else and they'll get ***** for not being me and I was the only person who could have ever conceivably been the Flash, it was so obvious."

Shock also asked him what superhero he would like to play if he doesn't get the Flash. "I secretly... *****, I shouldn't say this stuff," Brody answered.

What about Ant-Man? "F**k Ant-Man, man," he laughed. "As a kid, as much as I liked the Flash, but the dream would always be to be Spider-Man. I always associated the most with Peter Parker. I could never be Batman obviously. I've always been jealous of Spider-Man."

Reminded that there's still a chance in case Tobey Maguire doesn't return, Brody said, "I kinda know, they're making a fourth one..."

Adam Brody's News Flash
The O.C. star talks about his potential Justice League preparation.

by Todd Gilchrist

May 13, 2008 - Adam Brody, costar of the upcoming horror film Jennifer's Body, told IGN that he went through a extended preproduction process on Justice League before the film was eventually shelved. "It was an interesting process," Brody said during an interview for his new film, which costars Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried. "It was such a fun time, and I went to Australia for a month and that was great."

Brody, who previously appeared on the television series The O.C., signed on to Justice League to play The Flash for director George Miller (Happy Feet). He admitted that he didn't even know the status of the project, but said that the production was surprisingly unrestrained in terms of revealing - or at least not hiding - details about the characters and script.

"I don't know what's going on with it. Do you?" he joked. "That was an interesting process, and I was always – I always felt so excited, like 'I got the part! Now they're going to take me to the secret bunker in Warner Brothers and debrief us, so nobody can talk about [anything]. It's going to be so official.' But it sort of wasn't, and it didn't feel official, like stuff leaked out, and we're doing stuff like this but we're not supposed to talk about what's going on."

While Brody admitted he probably shouldn't be offering details about the film, he confessed that he did undergo a month long preproduction session in Australia to prepare for playing the comic book character. "I would be really remiss to talk about any of this except for the same reason – nobody said I couldn't," he admitted. "We went to Australia and did like a mini sort of workshop – superhero boot camp, which was superfun and really surreal, because you're sitting at a roundtable like this and someone's like, 'well, Batman wouldn't say that!' And someone's like, 'yeah, but the thing about Superman is…'

"It was so funny because George Miller, he has such respect for actors, probably more than I do, and so it was really fun," Brody continued. "You've got this like $200 million action picture but then you've got this true artist so you're dealing with this like superhero theater camp. Really, really interesting – I had a blast."

Even though Brody offered only a short description of the film's plot, he said that overall security was surprisingly lax when time came to keeping scripts and story information under wraps. "The plot is sort of the forming of the Justice League," he said, perhaps confirming the obvious. "[But] I keep waiting, like 'does anybody want [this script]? We can just take our scripts wherever?' I was like, 'you don't want to keep these?' I was encouraging the cast, like we should not keep these even in our hotel rooms, maybe."

As of the publishing of this article, the fate of Justice League has yet to be determined. But stay tuned to IGN for more news, information and updates on this and other exciting new projects!

I've always wanted him for Spider-Man. :o

he'd be a great Spidey, better than Toby Maguire IMO.
But Flash? I'll have to hold judgement until such a time that I have seen him don the red and yellow.

he'd be fine for any young and mouthy hero,

spiderman, flash, ice-man, human torch etc...

bit of a *****e thinking that all fans would want him as Flash if another actor is cast

why are these guys always so deluded about fans... granted many are fickle but for *****s sakes some people just like and will always like certain actors for roles... get the **** over urself Ad*ck

Adam Brody On Justice League Collapse
What went wrong?

Unless you've been abstaining from the internet for the past year – in which case, well done on falling off the wagon – you'll know that one of the big movies for 2009 was supposed to be Justice League, which would have brought together Batman, Superman and a number of other DC superheroes in one super-film. The picture suffered many setbacks, including fan backlash, the writers' strike and ultimately an Australian tax break problem that's too confusing to try to explain. We spoke to one of the almost-stars of the movie, Adam Brody, and had to ask him what went wrong and whether the film would ever see the light of day.

"Oh, we're done. We've filmed it. We're finished" He is, of course, kidding. "Actually, I probably shouldn't be commenting on it, but who cares. I don't really know – I still feel like an outsider on that somehow. I know there was a tax credit thing and I know that the strike was a hindrance. Also, you've got Batman coming out and Singer wants to do another Superman. This is only speculation on my part, I have no inside knowledge of this, but, as a fan, I think there's controversy about going off and trying to [show a different Superman and Batman]...I think maybe it will still happen, but I truly don't know any more than you do".

But would it happen with Brody? "I'm a huge George Miller fan and a huge comic fan, so I'd still be in. But maybe I won't be. I know that Ryan Reynolds was attached to The Flash for a while and then I got the part and everyone on the internet was like, 'Oh, he's no Ryan Reynolds! Reynolds is the only Flash!' I hope that if they do it in a year or so and it's a different guy and the new guy gets **** for not being me," he laughs. "Like, I become the only conceivable Flash".

But, if Justice League is off the table – and, if our reader comments section is anything to go by, most people won't mind if it is – Brody would still like to put himself in the running for another spandex-clad crime-fighter. "How do I say this in a way that won't come back to haunt me?," he says. "As a kid, the dream was always to be Spider-man. I always associated the most with Peter Parker". If Spider-Man 4 happens, there could, of course, be an opening for that role, if Tobey Maguire declines to return. "Yeah, I kinda know..."

We can see Brody in the role. He's got the geeky-cool thing going for him and he certainly knows the character inside out. We should make clear that he was in no way saying that he'd had any discussions about the role, but we suspect Sony may be looking for a new Spidey soon. It would be surprising for Maguire to renew his contract for more films. We'll had his name to the list of People We'd Believe As Spidey. That list so far reads as 'Jim Sturgess'.

Does anyone else get the vibe after reading this that W.B. didn't really seem that serious about it?
I mean c'mon, letting them take the scripts wherever they went? that's just asking for it.

well atless he finally came out and said something about the film like common, and gale have done in the last few months.

That did seem very strange. Unless that was some sort of bogus script? But if it was real, just compare that to this:

Movie plots or scenes usually get leaked to the public well before the film comes out in the theater, but as for the Dark Knight, there was no way that was going to happen. Even Batman himself wouldn't have been able to convince the producers to take home a script.

Maggie Gyllenhaal says when she was approached with the role of attorney Rachel Dawes in the movie, the movie was driven to her house by an assistant. Then the assistant had to sit in her driveway until she finished it. Only problem was, Maggie was a new mom tending her little girl Ramona, so it took her 20 hours to finish! And the guy stayed in her driveway the entire time. That's dedication! (And a little bit anal). But it's definitely worked, since the public only knows what we've seen in the trailer.

After reading the article I wonder if fan backlash did indeed have anything to with JL downfall. The whole letting the scripts go any which way they want is very odd.

"I was the only person who could have ever conceivably been the Flash, it was so obvious."

That's a pretty arrogant statement for Brody to make.

He'd definitely be good for Spider-man if they can't get Jake Gyllenhal once MaGuire leaves.

Did you even read the whole thing? He was obviously joking. Are you a bit slow today? :oldrazz:

I definately agree that he would be a good Spider-Man.

He was clearly pretending to be a fanboy, and joking about their fickle nature.

looks like he's playing with the media:hehe:

Some of you guys are taking his comments WAY too serious. He was really funny in this interview and I'm sorry if that doesn't translate to text. He wasn't downtalking Ryan Reynolds or Ant-Man, he was just kidding.

Adam Brody is fooling himself if he thinks the fans would all want him when the next guy comes around. While not the worst of this project's casting choices by a long shot, he did play a part in its image as "Justice League of OC." Not that many people were impressed when he was named as the Flash.

His looks wouldn't be bad for Peter Parker in a Spider-Man reboot though. The thing about Peter is that he's SUPPOSED to look unlike your average superhero, and more like your average, somewhat geeky college/twentysomething guy. What made Adam Brody unimpressive for other superhero roles (including Wally West) would actually work for Spidey.

^ How many times do we have to say it? He was joking. Don't take it so seriously. :whatever:

I think its pretty stupid that WB paid all this money for pre-production work for a movie they weren't sure about.

Vile:

IIRC they're called "Pay or Play" contracts.

Supposedly it isn't that unusual for Hollywood too use. Of course, it raises the financial burden so the project has to do even better then originally. That's quite a risky move to do especially on projects few people, from the studio or the public, have little faith in.

This is a little different then Bob Hoskins getting half a million for not playing Al Capone. It's millions wasted.

Wait...who got a pay or play deal on JLM?
