Adam Hughes' Women of DC (character question)

Hey guys,

I stumbled upon this great "Vanity Fair-esque" piece by penciller extraordinaire Adam Hughes and I was wondering who some of the characters were...

as far as I can gather, from left to right, there's Selina Kyle, Barbara Gordon, Zatanna, Supergirl (?), Powergirl, Wonder Woman, Black Canary (?), (?), Huntress or Talia (?), Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn.

Care to fill in the blanks?

I'd switch Black Canary and Supergirl. Before Poison Ivy is Vixen and I'm thinking the redhead is Batwoman.

I think you're right about switching Black Canary with Supergirl. I'm not familiar with Vixen and the new Batwoman, so I'll just take your word for it. Cool.



by the way, check how much Zatanna looks like Jennifer Connelly... HOT!

Hmm. I'm thinking whether or not Batwoman would be notable enough to merit inclusion in that. I said her in just keeping with the costumed heroine/villainess theme. It might be Lois Lane (I believe her hair has been referred to as auburn before).

I think your right.She's wearing what looks like a "S" sheild ring.

Most of them have 'hints' and she's wearing two rings. Could be one and one for the marriage.

I had to enlarge it myself but it came out to blurry.

But it almost looks the same shape as the on Sups chest.

The problem is that nether ring is on the right finger.

Maybe DC's taking a que from Joe Q????

It could very well be Lois, but that doesn't seem to fit... They're all either a superheroine or supervillainess and Lois is neither, really.

Plus, Hughes usually draws Lois with a different hairstyle. Same deal with Talia, he always draws her with straighter hair covering one eye. So I'm guessing it probably is Batwoman? Or maybe Huntress after all?

Unless the theme is ladies of the DC universe....then Lois fits in the pic.

There's a stereotype that says that would be the lesbian (Batwoman), but I don't put too much stock into that as an identifier. On the other hand, Lois has worn pants suits on numerous occasions. I'd lean toward Kal-El's squeeze based off that alone.

You'd figure there'd be a formal list somewhere, but I've only seen general fan accounts citing Lois and Batwoman. Hughes' site has nothing specific on the roster.

That's what leads me to think Lois. It's a very "So what I'm in pajamas, they don't give out ****ing Pulitzers for twirling your hair and giggling" kind of a thing.

After doing some digging around, the print version of the poster has a tagline with the inclusions listed as:

Catwoman, Oracle, Zatanna, Black Canary, Power Girl, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batwoman, Vixen, Poison Ivy, and Harley Quinn.

You can make out part of the listing in the lower right corner.

I was happier when I thought it might be Lois Lane. By giving her pants and a manly sitting position, isn't AH! just perpetuating a lesbian stereotype? And Batwoman is one of those feminine lesbians, like on that L Word show.
