BvS Adding more and more people to this movie

Won't know until we see the movie. I understand why the idea might concern people, but it really is that simple.

As for myself? Fifteen months is far too much time to stress over it.

I can understand people not wanting too many characters, but if they're not playing a major role, I think it's okay. I think the best thing about comic book universes is that you kind of get the feel that it's a whole entire world. It's a whole world where life happens for all characters. In a lot of movies, when a character is introduced in a sequel, it's kind of like they just came out of nowhere and their sole purpose is to drive that story. Instead, it's nice to know that these people actually exist all along. It would be nice if they had an "Iceberg Lounge" or a background news story on TV about one of Batman's or Superman's villains, or just something as simple as mentioning the Aquaman legend or like having Hal Jordan walk past Bruce Wayne. It's like a little nod that these people exist and have their own stuff going on. As long as they don't try to give everyone an important role, then I think it's fine.

For starters I like dc more than marvel, I read more dc comics, think man of steel was kick ass, and enjoy arrow more than agents of shield. I think dc's storytelling is much darker and that appeals to the modern world more. When I first heard about batman v superman I was stoked, and my first thought was the dark knight returns. I'm still excited but I can't help feel like they are cramming people in this movie. Batman, Wonder Women, Cyborg, Aquaman, Lex Luthor, and now Doomsday. I want to stay hopeful but my best friend (a marvel fanboy) says this is going to bomb, Someone help me stay positive!

Avengers and X-Men DOFP had many people in one movie it didn't.

People are whining left and right about how BvS is overstuffed when Age of Ultron and Civil War are the same, plus GotG had Star Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Drax, Gamora, Nebula, Ronan, Thanos (in a minute-long scene that's only there to remind you that he exists), the Other, Yondu, The Collector, Bereet, Nova Prime, the ENTIRE Nova Corps, a couple of Celestrals, Carina, and a cameo by Howard the freaking Duck.

So like, yeah.

Don't forget Stan Lee. :oldrazz:

What a terrifying sight that was...

DC should one up Howard the Duck by bringing in Detective Chimp.

Apples and oranges.

Why are you comparing BVS to AOU & CW? You realize AOU & CW each have 8-10 movies under their belts next to BVS' 1? They can stuff their movie with as many characters as they want. More than half of the characters have already been established, several times, and don't need any explaining. They're in the mix and the GA understands that without asking questions. With BVS the GA wants to know more about Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Lex.

That's why people can argue BVS will be stuffed. Before The Avengers were brought together, the Hulk, Iron-Man, Cap and Thor each had their solo movies. Wonder Woman, Batfleck, Aquaman haven't. Simple as that.

Close the damn thread the guy only opened it because his Marvel friend was giving him a hard time was saying this going to bomb and he needed reassurance,.

Sounds like most of the extra characters will be cameos. So I think we'll be find.

Well yeah that's because Marvel has proven that they can do anything and everything with ease because they made 4 good movies and 6 not so good-yet-still-good-cause-marvelbetch movies and DC has only made crap movies because TDK Trilogy doesn't count.

sorry guys, I'm tired and can't sleep and feel like a sack of balls....

The more the merrier.

I'm still hoping that the Josh Holloway rumor a while back is for a surprise appearance of an older Green Arrow during the Batman/Superman fight.

The idea that solo films are needed to establish characters is a new one born from the Marvel studios model. It is not the norm in fact the history of cinema is filled with examples of ensemble cast films. The over stuffed argument is pretty flawed. No one knew anything about the characters in Guardians of the Galaxy but they were introduced and thrown together in one film. Even Argo, which the screen writer of Dawn of Justice wrote, featured character development of an ensemble cast.

It's a concern I've voiced before; it could easily be an issue if not handled correctly, a la, Spider-man 3, but we'll have to wait and see. Goyer not handling the script gives me hopes that MoS's issues will be addressed, so I hope that Terio's involvement will help elevate this script.
If your friend tells you this movie is doomed due to cramming a lot of characters (in his words), remind him of the number of characters who will be introduced in Captain America: Civil War. It easily outweighs this movie. Iron Man, Cap, 2 villains already confirmed, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Falcon, Winter Soldier etc.
Wait, since when has Cap 3 been introducing Captain Marvel?
Also every one of these characters other than Black Panther have already been introduced so it's a little different.

Just acquire some purple haze and everything will be fine again.

You're welcome.

I wigged out about this dubious "adding of the people" business a few times already and would be remiss if I didn't get over it at some point. That point has been reached.

Let the chips fall where they may, I say.

There isn't going to be a Drax the Destroyer movie, nor Groot, nor Rocket. They're established, as Guardians. Them having their own solo movies post GOTG doesn't make sense.

So it's ok for Marvel to establish Drax, Groot, and Rocket in one film, but it's not ok to establish Batman, Wonder Woman and Aquaman in one film?

We are getting a Captain America vs Iron man movie that introduces Black Panther.

We are getting a Batman vs Superman movie that introduces Wonderwoman.

Neither are Overcrowded

(NOTE:Cyborg and Aquman dont have actual roles in the movie. They are cameos)

Whether it starred only Cavill and Affleck and was a 2 hour verbal debate on the in's and out's of superhero'ing, or a massive cast of 100 people (some of whom Superman snaps their necks :o) and an entire menagerie thrown in, I will be watching this in the theatre.

And if the quality is affected directly by the number of cast, I'll let you know after I've seen it.
