Honey, how was your year..?

Make it a balance thread.. Hope it's not a repost, a bad idea, or whatever.

On the up side, I'd say that finally moving out to a different city was the big thing. Also starting (to study) a new career, which is one I always wanted to do (journalism) and I did very well. Just ok. Badly.. I didn't do as good as I expected :hehe: but at least it's a start--you know, new life, new goal (what?) But I got to write a lot, read some really interesting books (sort of a career-queue list of book) and even got the chance to interview people (in a very amateur, beginners way of course)

Living in a big city also gave me the chance to attend several gigs (I'm a music lover :oldrazz:)--though not as many as I wish I could--lotsa great bands came here this year and I couldn't get to see 'em (Maiden, Dream Theater, R.E.M.). Next year is just as good--i.e. in march, Radiohead's coming down here. Though the tickets are insanely expensive and the gig's already sold out, so, heh, what you gonna do :whatever:

Movie-wise it was also a good year, lotsa good movies I was lucky enough to catch in theaters. I know there was TDK, Iron Man and all that, but my superhero moment of the year was on july 17th, when we all got to see the Watchmen teaser. Seeing Dr Manhattan's city rising over Mars was teh s**t, hands down

On the down side, what I said before my new study, not finishing the year quite well. Also, the 2-robbery-in-a-row thing was quite the big bad thing. Living in a bad neighbourhood has its price, I suppose. Not to mention family issues and the usual thing for almost every human being out there--the bad things that keep the balance thingy going on. Let's say that my year is not ending very well..

There are lots of things that I left out, either because they're boring or just because they're just not your business :hehe:

Oh, and I broke a back tooth.

Don't feel like talking about your 2008? That's ok :o Have a happy xmas and new year, and here's to hope that next year is twice as better than this :woot:

I got a great job, then lost it, so I moved.

I'm finally living a bachelor's life.

Obama won.

I got my iPod touch.

Overall, 2008 was mediocre for me.

Aeghast... you are obviously a young person. I admire your youngtality... i wish I were still a young person with a young mind doing young things and having young thoughts about young situations... but alas (who the hell still says alas???) I'm not. I'm an old man who drinks too much liquor... I should stop. I should stop right now... because a young person like you is going to say:

"Old man... don't preach at me with your old person mentality. Do NOT come at me with this "quit being a young person stuff!!!" ". *notice the double quote... I don't know how else to do that thurr*

It's okay though. You'll be aight[/ghetto]. I just wanted to talk at you. But now that I've done that.... I'm going to go eat some ramen soup... and fall asleep on my bed. Hopefully dreamless because dreams can get really bad and livid at times. Lividity[/yes, i made that up] is not always a good thing... let's dance.

Aeghast...You're obviously not very good at writing your thoughts. That was incomprehensible. But anyways...

Best thing of the year:

TDK (I know...)
Some of my random sexcapades.

Worst thing of the year:

My rabbit dying a horrible death at the hands of my stupid neighbor's cat

Sometimes the worst things life has to show you are the best things to ever happen to you...

... a cat eating a rabbit has got to be one of the most awesome things I've ever heard of in my life. Video? Please?

2008 was awesome. Fallout 3 is running thangs :). TDK is still the highlight of the year for me. I was 19 this year, so I fulfilled my civic duty to vote. And I'm moving out back to Arizona. 08 has been a big step for me personally. Here's to 09.

Sorry about your rabbit Knight. Are you getting a new one for 09?

Here's to hoping Arizona is beachfront property in '09![/toast]

I had a rabbit when I was a lil boy. It was a totally white rabbit, allowing me the chance of calling it Snowy - I was really creative as a young chap.

BUt, I did have a cat when I was a lil boy, too. I called him Banjo. He was awesome. He didn't eat my rabbit, but the rabbit died anyway - someone broke his neck.

Bastards.

When I was much older, about two years ago, I had a cat called McCartney. He was evil and ate my hamster, Bilbo. I didn't know at first and was laughing at the cat because I thought he'd been playing in a berry bush because he had red bits on his head and on the white bits of his lil paws. He hadn't been in a berry bush. What I had found was Bilbo's guts on his head and on the white bits of his lil paws.

None of that happened this year

Jeez, that's horrible Eggy... the worst thing that's happened to me this year was that I almost destroyed an almost 9 year old relationship with the woman I love. I'm damned glad that I never found bits of guts on her paws and head... that would have just pushed me over the edge.

I've thought about it. But I think it's "too soon" you know? She was murdered just over a month ago.

That's some horrible neck-snapping action :csad:

I am happy for you :)

Nobody likes to find hamster guts on their woman's head and paws.

I had a pretty **** year, but things are starting to look better.

In 2008...

I participated in my best show thus far.

Got my first leading role in a musical - though it was at summer camp, so I'll just call it 'practice'.

Got into the best musical theatre college program in Canada and am currently attending.

Rediscovered an obsession that helped shape where I want to go with my career and how I'm going to get there.

Became very worried over the economic crisis, and hope that Obama can fix whatever the hell's going on by the time I invade NYC. Broadway, watch out!

2008:

- Lost my job
- Lost my car
- Moved back home
- Transferred to another college
- Had to switch my Major
- Broke up with my girlfriend
- Lost a really good friend
- My Sister is in the process of destroying her life
- My cousin committed suicide
- Economic times hit my Brother hard so seeing him really depressed doesn't help
- My school is no longer offering my Major

That was all the **** that happened this year. I guess if you want to talk good things, I had a really good Summer. I went to Chicago (flew in a plane for the first time!), went on a lot of small trips to beaches and national parks, spent a lot of time with friends. Some good movies came out this summer, too, But I don't see how anyone could say seeing The Dark Knight theatrically or any other movie this summer made this a good year.

Overall, some really ****** things happened this year, but I still kind of had fun. I kept a positive outlook on things and I think it helped me get through this year without being depressed. I'm hoping the next year will be better.

This years been crap for me really, in fact probably my worst year so far.
But sod it, as long as i've got my health, got my weed and got some booze, it's aaaallllll good! :D

2008 SUCKED.

TDK, Obama winning, and going to NYC and seeing a game at Yankee Stadium were the only great things that happened this year.

best things:
the Phillies won world seires!
Iron man!

worst things:
going to see TDK while extremely tired. (ruined the entire movie)
being banned from WUMB
being chased by a crazy israeli woman.
