It had been long speculated, thus the the last bow given to Brett Dalton and B.J. Britt in the Framework pod. Cancellation after this season got more traction with reports that Disney forced ABC to keep AoS on the air this season

I get the speculation, as they have been doing that since season one, but until they actually say so, I myself would not state it like a fact quite yet, but that's me.
