Didn't see a thread for this. Surprised the Village Voice was so positive in it's review though other reviewers were not as kind. Still, interesting to see Arnold embracing his age on screen. I would love it if he started down the road Eastwood did once he became a certain age.

Hopefully this is on par with his performance in Maggie.

The trailer looks like a made for tv movie... but I'll watch it.

Some of the reviews were harsh on its production values and certain plot elements but praised Arnold's performance.

My review/ramblings...

It's Schwarzenegger trying to make another serious film after Maggie (A film which I really loved). This however feels more or less like a Lifetime movie that's way too bleak for it's own good. This was split into two narratives. It parallels between Schwarzenegger dealing with losing his family to a plane crash and Scoot McNairy, who was the air traffic controller that caused the plane to crash. I feel like the director wanted to make this movie greater than what it is, but the script and some of the acting held it down. I wouldn't say the movie is terrible, but this had the potential of being great like Place Beyond the Pines if it had a better script and given a bigger budget.
6/10

I thought this was really solid and much better than Maggie which I couldn't even finish. Schwarzenegger and McNairy were equally fantastic in their respective roles, and honestly at times I didn't know which one to feel more sympathy for. My only real problems with the film is that it felt too much like a made for TV movie and the ending was a bit unsatisfying, but that's about it.

I'd give it an 8/10.

So that's two indie dramas with highly praised Schwarzenegger performances in a row.
