Agatha Agatha All Along on Disney+

The effects for Ghost Agatha unfortunately reminded me of the floating head from Thor: Love and Thunder. Hopefully that's improved in a sequel series or follow-up appearance.

I'd rather see Wiccan as a leading character in Young Avengers and have that loosely adapt "The Children's Crusade" with the central plot focused on finding Tommy. Ghost Agatha as a presence/voice that only Wiccan can see/hear would be fun--it gives very much Firestorm from DC Comics.

‘Agatha All Along’ Star Joe Locke Talks “Brain-Muddling” Final Two Episodes, “Respect” Between Agatha And Billy, Going Full Wiccan And More

DEADLINE: The scene of Agatha’s betrayal and turning Billy over to Rio — did you guys talk about that scene a lot?

LOCKE:
That scene was such a complicated one for me. I think it actually changed in post, I’m pretty sure, because the “Is this how Nikki died?” the telepathic line to Agatha, was a thing we added in post. So when I was playing, I was playing it that Agatha decides on her own, without any help, to turn around and then sacrifice yourself, which is how I still see it. I think that she would have, but I think you need to tell the audience that story.

One great thing I think ,about our show is, I think with a lot of villain origin story shows, they make them into not villains anymore. They make them into heroes in some way, but our show doesn’t do that. She’s still a serial killer who murders people and cares about herself more than anyone. I like that we keep that. That does not change there the end. You see more layers to her. You see why she does things, but she’s still a villain.
That’s interesting that that was something done late in post. I kinda would’ve liked it to see Agatha do it of her own volition.

Madisyn is a one-note joke. She would've ruined the show. I frankly hope we never see Madisyn again.

I think Madisyn would fit the Wonder Man series more, given that that show seems to be about Hollywood and the entertainment industry (given that the lead character is an actor), and she is an influencer type.

For anyone still keeping track. ;)

This show originally debuted with 426 million minutes on Nielsen covering 2 episodes and an 85.5-minute runtime. Episode 6 alone was 49.5 minutes, but good for 410M. Shows a huge increase in viewership. With this viewership, the runtime of the first week would've been good for 708M. That bump already happened before this week in all honesty. Last week was only 31 minutes, almost a third of the debut week, but got to 310M.

Bob Iger also mentioned that this show was one of the properties driving subscriptions, while the budget for this was historically low.

The last 2 episodes charted very very well on Nielsen. Given it’s just 2 episodes (even factored in some people catching up all 8) it’s quite impressive compared against all four Netflix shows ahead of it.

Disney should be quite happy with this number. Un expected overperformer.

The Kathryn Hahn-led show tallied 744 million minutes of viewing on Disney+ for the week of Oct. 28-Nov. 3; the final two episodes of the season debuted on Oct. 30. That’s by far the biggest total weekly total for Agatha All Along, beating the 426 million minutes for its premiere week by a 75 percent margin.

Nice! With only about ~4 minutes of additional runtime on these two episodes, that's a really nice bump. Of course, that also includes people who waited to binge, but even that additional interest is a good sign. All the more reason for Disney to be very happy. Especially given the low budget.

Production Weekly listed both "Agatha all Along Season 2" and "Champions". Along with the comments/hints from people involved with the show, a second season is a very safe bet now. Not a guarantee though.

How accurate is production weekly? Do they still have Blade and X-Men there?

Production Weekly is aimed at industry professionals rather than focusing on scoops or content for a wider audience. It's fairly reliable, though projects can be in very early phases and then dropped for a variety of reasons. Being listed in Production Weekly isn't a guarantee. It isn't official until it's greenlit. This means at minimum that a second season is very seriously being explored though. Given its performance, I think it's a no-brainer.

The problem with Marvel Studios these days, nothing is really set in stone and things always change and get delayed. Who knows what would Disney feel next year with their Disney+ projects. Just 2 years ago, they promised us a lot more content that should have been out by now.

I believe a second season when I see it. But to be honest, this show isn't a real hit and I don't see a lot of buzz from it. Like most MCU shows, it came and went.

How would a second season even work? Agatha is in spectator mode now.

Plus, AAA was basically the sequel to WV anyway. Most logical thing is to make another show that's basically the sequel to AAA but now follows Billy and Tommy.

By which metric though? It was on par with the Loki S2 finale and charted on Nielsen again with no new episodes the week after. Granted that is with a longer runtime, but the industry never really accounts for that.

Also managed to beat the final weeks of Andor, Ahsoka, Acolyte, Bad Batch, Echo, Secret Invasion, She-Hulk, Ms Marvel, X-Men '97, What If, and Moon Knight on Nielsen.

All on a budget of less than $40M. That's about 1.5 episodes of WandaVision except here they delivered nine episodes. With those results they'd be absolutely insane not to do a second season.

It literally has a whole some of the best viewership of any of the Marvel shows and was able to succesfully target a bigger demographic. Not to mention the award nominations. How is that not successful lol?

You are comparing this to Disney+ shows which isn't exactly a high bar to surpass. Can you link me to an article that proves Agatha All Along is one of the most popular shows of this year across all platforms? If I didn't visit this site or wasn't following everything MCU, I wouldn't have heard much from this.

Agatha All Along is no Stranger Things or The Boys cultural phenomenon. Those shows are what would I call a real hit in the streaming era - not Agatha All Along.
