Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - 3x17 - "The Team" - Discussion Thread

We're in for a roller coaster ride these next few weeks, and Civil War's gonna be there to keep the ride going.

I don't get why people so dislike Lincoln. I don't find him objectionable at all, in fact, I thought tonight's episode was a strong one for him.

I find him to be bland in both personality and powers, and the actor has zero chemistry with Chloe. Joey is also an original character, but he's gay, Hispanic, has unique melting powers and a fun personality. He brings a lot more to the table.

In my opinion joey and yo yo are the best part of that team mostly because they bring that unknown factor to the table you really dont know how they will react or what they will do.

Well, damn. Thought Lincoln might be the one but nope Daisy got enthralled by Hive. What a twist! Never expected that.

Wonder how next weeks episode plays out.

Also...one thing bums me out. In my mind, Thanos will likely have an MCU version of the Black Order in Infinity War...and I think Hive is cool enough to be a part of that (with maybe Red Skull, Loki and someone to be named later). Not that the movies would include a character from the tv shows...but it would be the ultimate thank you to the tv supporters to have Ward/Hive be a villain in Inifnity War.

Now that you mention it, Hive's personality and abilities sort of reminds me of Ebony Maw.

I didn't see that one coming, either, but the clue was planted in the previous episode: Malick said he felt his body ripped apart from the inside, and it turns out his vision of his death was accurate - as have been all of the visions so far -, only he thought the killer was Hive directly. Probably he thought that's how Hive's victims felt, but ripping things apart from the inside is Daisy's power.

Given that the visions have been accurate so far, we should expect her vision will happen too. I'm not sure her interpretation of it (namely, that a team member will die) will turn out to be correct, though: what they saw in visions has always happened so far, but interpretations haven't been so accurate.

Really good episode.
The attack of Hydra was good but the best was after.
I really don't understand the hate for Lincoln, I think he is pretty cool.
I think Malick was a good character, he really grow on me, but Hive is a very good vilain.

I actually liked the choice in Lincoln being revealed as the innocent one in the end.

I also liked seeing his development as a character since when Coulson took him out on the field evaluation, Phil noted on how he believed that Lincoln was only in SHIELD because of Daisy and that he (Phil) didn't believe that Lincoln really believed in what SHIELD stood for. So it was great seeing Lincoln prove Phil wrong on that end.

I figured it was Daisy pretty quickly. They were trying to hard to point the blame at Lincoln and Yoyo or Melty guy betraying SHIELD wouldnt mean much since they are pretty much nobody characters with very little development, and Daisy was the one the showrunners would hope viewers would least expect. Plus Daisy has a history with Ward so that made me think the showrunners would like the dynamic that would cause if Daisy was pulled onto the Hive bandwagon.

Glad they had Daisy be the one infected. Poor Lincoln needs a break from getting **** on, and I just dont care about the other two to care if they are infected.

Should be a good final four episodes.

LOL...the main cast blocked themselves into safety, leaving the rest of SHIELD to be slaughtered.

Anyone not on the A-team is cannon fodder.

I'd just like to add, f*** ABC and f*** Donald goddamn Trump for interrupting this show every. damn. week.
I don't care what that orange a**hole has to say, so seriously, ABC, go eat a d**k

Kinda cool to have to "super heroes" of Spanish descent in the MCU, even if they are on TV and not the movies.

Complain about it on their site of FB pages. Enough people do it long enough maybe they'll WAIT to announce the crap

Well that happened. I really like the title they have chosen for the upcomming 4 episode event. Lets see how they get out of that mess. I wonder how they will manage the tie in to Civil War.

Dude, For a LONG while now I've been wanting a Version of Tarantula introduced.

I liked the switch out with Daisy being the possessed one instead of Lincoln.

I LOVED Fitz and Simmons finally getting together, but I'll hold the shippy stuff in.

I'm still not very interested in Inhumans. I liked the idea of AoS exploring the non enhanced agents dealing with things, but I know it's just a pipe dream at this point of them ever moving on from it. I always find myself thinking "I wish they'd just call an Avenger to ***** slap xxx right now."

Particularly last night with Daisy rattling the base - call Wanda and have her show Daisy how to properly zap a person. :funny:

Well, there wouldn't have been that many SHIELD agents on the plane, right? Because they were on their way back from that company, so I guess that only those agents involved in the mission would have been on the plane.

I wonder whether ABC noticed a lot of spanish-speaking audience watching the show... and are profitizing on that^^

I really liked the plot of this episode. Making the Secret Warriors question themselves and SHIELD question them was great, Lincoln's character devleopment was great and I am sure that some guys will love a new Daisy/Ward pairing^^

That was the one sticky point for me regarding the episode. Sure, the Daisy-thing figured out how to get out but still, where was Mac or Mae or whoever? No one could listen in on their dialogue?

But that's always a sticky point with me in Sci-Fi. Star Trek did that a lot--have suspects roaming the ship or the station and nobody can find them or they don't have cameras in the future?

Probably had to do with them subconsciously trusting Daisy. Conjecture, sure, but it's the best no-prize I could come up with.

That and, she did reveal she was able to bypass her pod's security because she had designed it herself. Which means she could have also just as easily disabled audio in Lincoln's pod and put the video feed on a loop (which she did before when she was only the team's hacker, prior to powers).

He was absolutely great in this episode. Badass when using his powers, noble in his decision-making (particularly because he's a doctor who understands infection), but still flawed in how he acted. I thought he was great.

I wasn't feeling well yesterday, so I watched the episode today without election coverage (have to say, the comments here were quite amusing). This episode was quite fun. Hive's infection is quite scary. In retrospect, you could find things to point to with Daisy, but even when she was self-serving for Hive, everything she did was plausible. Well done by the writers.

What a Kick butt Episode!!! (found a news break FREE version)

I sang such high praises for AoS after the mid-season finale, but it had lost me up until this past episode. It seems the show has been treading water up until now. I'm finally as hooked into the show as I was back in December.
