I just feel no connection to the team. And I feel like we don't need 2 scientists who are basically the wonder twins of the show plus a whole separate character for the computer hacking. Sure it is nice that they feel like they don't need a scientist who is also great at the hacking but it is a bit much. Get rid of 1 of the scentists and replace them with another experienced field agent.

Less annoying than having the omni-disciplinary scientist which is a prevalent problem in these kind of shows and comic books, I think. But, also, we're starting to see the two characters diverge more and develop separately and I think that will help. Simmons will become the "team player" who is constantly working to keep tensions down and wants everyone to get along and play nice; she'll be the one who tries to keep the team together and talks people back to the fold. Fitz will be the really crazy, absent minded scientist with absolutely no personal skills whose main interest is the scientist and will more than likely have at least one episode where he's tempted by some great power simply by virtue of it being new! exciting! science!

Honestly, I'm fine with them so long as they remain platonic friends. If I can be promised that we'll have a male and female character who are close but not lovers I will be entirely content.

For me, there are a few niggles... But come on people, we are only three episodes in. Give it time to find it's footing and if the issues are still there, then I think it's right to comment on them.

Don't whinge about a house having no roof when it's only half built....

I think we should wait until episode 6 to the first half of the season to trully see if the show has some legs or not, let's just hope this is a slow burner than burned wood.

they are setting up a future Fitz/Skye romance as far as I'm concerned. At least Fitz seemed very interested in her in 0-8-4 and noticed her...well...you know...uh...boobs in The Asset

I dunno; I doubt Skye would give Fitz the time of day. I think it's just a case of him going ga-ga over her, and Simmons eventually gets jealous, forcing her to admit that she's got feelings for Fitz.

Skye is being groomed for Ward, obviously.

not to mention groomed BY Ward for SHIELD hehe

I would say you shouldn't try to show off a house that isn't built already. Things aren't so awful that they're beyond repair, but it would have been nice to have some of these things worked out before the show aired.

Whedon wouldn't go the obvious romance route like that.

and it is this obviousity that makes me think there will be a twist somewhere later on

Maybe Skye and Ward will find out that they're long-lost siblings, thus averting any romance and causing one or both to flee the team in shame. :woot:

Just get them together and then kill off Ward right quick. Everyone wins

FTFY. :yay:

(The first time I saw "FTFY" I thought it meant "**** the ****ing Yankees!" That was my granddaddy's motto. :cwink:)

Ha, but I actually don't mind Skye as much as others. Maybe I'm crazy :yay:

I don't really hate her, but to me she's the least likable on the team so far. I guess I don't like the teeny attitude among the group of Agents and scientists.

This shows why she is the greatest asset on the team:

There's nothing to work out. This is no different from any other show, they take time to hit their stride. It happens all the time. Also, there's this thing called character growth/development, which were already starting to see. The Buffy/Angel characters started out kind of stereotypical, but boy did they grow and develop. This is no different. There's nothing to fix.

That'd be Ward for me

And the Wonder Twins are a little annoying for now but I imagine they're being set up to get hit with some dark **** down the line that brings them down to earth in a major way. So I can deal with the cutesy act for now.

Hell, you see where Cordelia ended up in the Buffy universe. Started out as kind of the typical alpha ***** rival to the main character, and got the most development of them all at the end of Angel. I would say they all will end up being significantly different than the way they are now.

Lost disagrees with you. Breaking Bad disagrees with you. A ton of other shows don't fit your mold of "wait and let it develop the good stuff."

Nothing to fix? That's about as far from the truth as you can get. Even the great shows have SOME flaws. And please don't talk down to me about character development. I have a pretty good understanding of what it is. There are plenty of shows with characters that aren't flat from the get-go.
