It's a bad idea because you're asking audiences to invest 11 hours in a show that may or may not turn out to be good. That's ridiculous. Imagine you had a stack of books available to read, all in your favorite genre. Would you be willing to sit through 11 chapters of each book, even if they're boring, just on the off chance that it might be good later? Or would you move on to the next one after a few chapters?

Not every series has to start out with instant must-watch moments like LOST, but you damn sure can't plan a series around the idea that your audience will tough-out a dozen boring episodes before you get to the good stuff.

But it hasn't been boring. There's been some unrealistic expectations because Marvel has been top notch and got a lot of people talking. Sure it's had some flaws, but it hasn't been the pile of flaming dog poop that people on here want to say it is.

Over the past two days I've rewatched all the episodes to prep for tonight's return, in my marathon I decided to watch The Hub and The Well in their original intended order (with The Well first followed by The Hub) instead of how they aired. And while I was fine and think they do still work in the order they aired. I have to say that going The Well first then The Hub really does have a bit better flow, what with Coulson having the questions of what the staff might show him & the dream/nightmare at the end of the Well and then in The Hub, with those events of The Well still lingering, him then catching himself with the "it's a magical place" line and then being refused in his request to see his death/recovery paperwork.

It's isn't utter trash. It's just completely mediocre for the most part.

It's had some very good moments, and some very bad moments. It's what I expected --- a decent foray into the 'normal' side of the MCU and SHIELD. I fully expect as the stakes get higher and they get further along that they'll bring in more Marvely stuff, and things will get better.

That's all this is.

I still think people will whine about Agent Carter when it comes too because there won't be enough superheroes.

I wasn't talking about AoS specifically. You started out talking about shows in general taking 11 episodes to warm up as the norm. That's what I'm arguing against. It's not the norm and it shouldn't be the norm.

AoS isn't terrible. It's had some good shows, but the bad outweighs the good and they've taken way too long to get something interesting going. It doesn't have to involve superhero cameos, either. They could have used what they have to make a better show earlier on.

Honestly, I think it just needs better writers.

The lack of superheroes or low stakes aren't my issue with the show. It's the writing, inept portrayal of SHIELD and for the most part boring action sequences that make me less than excited to keep up with the show.

If you read most of the stuff coming out, the portrayal of SHIELD has been small for a reason. They wanted Coulson to almost be cut off, because most people don't know he's even around anymore and he's still in "recovery" mode.

Apparently we're expecting to get a look at how SHIELD 'really is' tonight with Victoria Hand.

A lot of people have missed or forgotten this bit.

Stan the man will appear on AoS

Always happy to see Stan. :awesome:

So he'll have another chance to grope Bennet :awesome:

I want Thor or Stark to show up and kick some ass

So Coulson IS different; he is an Eternal imo

HAd a dad.. and he saw him die as a kid

Bennet wants pics of those of you with pics watching the show!
