Navy Aircraft Carrier to Be Named for Black Pearl Harbor Veteran

He was the first African-American to receive the second highest military medal, the Navy Cross, for his heroic actions during the Pearl Harbor attack. He was portrayed by Cuba Gooding Jr in the movie PEARL HARBOR.

Great to hear but sadly the first thing to pop into my head when I saw this is to wonder how long until we find out that the Trump administration is trying to get the Navy to name it something different.
