What do you think? Live Earth was a pretty big success. Gore seems to be building all kinds of publicity around himself while not actually campaigning. It could be the perfect strategy. The man has a huge war chest and wouldn't need to raise much money. He has name recognition so he could literally jump in last minute and be a contender. Will Al Gore run for president?

I personally think he is watching Hilary and Obama's campaigns with great interest. Waiting for one of the much hyped candidates to make some silly mistake and Howard Dean themselves...and then he will jump in and suddenly be the front runner.

What do you think?

Oh stop it... he's fat and out of shape and has no intentions of going back at this thing again... he'd never win anyways...

I think he will run, but not for this election. Maybe next one.

The latest polls indicate if he were to enter today, he would take 29 % of Hilary's votes.

When that is factored in with what he would take from other candidates and undecideds, he would have 32 % of the vote, which would give him the win in the primary with ease.

That would be great, but, well, I have no way of knowing.

I think it's possible he could, Matt. I do believe he's a little gunshy about the whole thing considering how it went down the last time he ran. But, I agree...he's watching and waiting at the moment. His public image is much better these days than it was when he ran before. He was so stiff and wooden back then, and now he's learned to loosen up and be personable and speak in a fashion that people respond to. I can't stand Hillary but she's shaping up to be the Dem's big fish at the moment and the Republicans don't have ANYONE who could take her down. The only person I can see keeping her out of the White House at the present time is Gore. So, yeah....I'm sort of hoping he decides to go for it.

The strange part about Hilary is there have been so many things that would sink practically any other candidate, and yet she is keeping her head above water. I think the only thing at this point that can destroy Hilary, is Hilary. And I think that is what Gore is waiting for. Her Howard Dean moment.

I don't know if she's going to get her Howard Dean moment, though. She's got some good handlers, including her husband, keeping her from doing it. It's still possible, I guess, but if she hasn't tanked herself so far, even with all the dumb things she's said, I don't think it's going to happen. Meanwhile, we have a President who makes Dean look like the reigning king of the Toastmasters.

I Hate Hilary but I doubt shell win. Barrack seems to be a people person and him setting the money record only means good things.

However if Gore were to run, I am not convinced hed win, anyway. While I agree theres a good chance hell enter; it could be potential suicide for his party.....which would be terrible for my stock shares! :cmad:

Yeah, I agree. Hilary just seems to have too much momentum behind her to lose. Which is why I really hope Gore enters and steals some of it. What scares me is, if Hilary wins this election and serves 2 terms...we will have had the same two families in our highest office for 28 years.

Obama is falling behind Hilary. I think people are starting to see the lack of a real platform. Eventually saying things like "We need hope" is going to become more and more hollow.

I dunno man; he wouldn't have so much $$$ and media attention if that was happening. Hilary; imho, will never have to make a howard dean type of move because she made it when she announced her candidacy. She is a woman, which in the minds of nearly every reubplican and a lot of indpendents makes her, for lack of a better word. a joke. Its hard to take her seriously because its friggin Hilary Clinton. I am sure there are a ****load of people who love her and will vote for her...but if she gets the dems nomination then i think the dems are far from a lock to win then. If Gore, Obama, or Edwards gets it I say dems have it locked up; but if Clinton gets it i say its far from it.

i dunno; i dont follow politics in depth until election time; i just check out most headlines n ****. It just doesnt seem like Hilary some powerful fish you guys think she is.

i hope he does, but at this point i doubt it.

He's too busy pretending to be an expert on global warming to run for president again.

Well, Hilary is leading in most polls. And sure, Obama is raising enough money...but that is hardly an indicator that he will win. It just means he is more popular with the base's elite. Also, keep in mind, Hilary has a massive war chest from her two senate campaigns...so she does not really need to raise as much money as Obama.

God, I hope not....he did good work with his Global Warming education work.....he needs to keep with what he's good at....

Hahaha.

Thread title reminds me of tv plots. Like The Office- "Jim and Pam, will they? won't they?"

Except this is just Al, all by himself...:csad:

I don't think he's going to run. I think he is past wanting to be President and now actually wants to do something that will make a (positive) difference in the world.

btw, I can't stand Hillary or Obama. I wish Edwards would win.....but that's probably just a pipe dream, lol.

I don't know if he'll run but I'm sure he won't win. This is one of the most expensive and hyped up elections ever. People are already obsessed with Hilary and Obama if poor Edwards who got in nice and early can't stand a chance Gore never will.
