"Apologies, gentlemen, but we’re embracing our girl power and saying ‘No Guys Allowed’ for one special night at the Alamo Ritz. And when we say ‘Women (and People Who Identify As Women) Only,’ we mean it. Everyone working at this screening — venue staff, projectionist, and culinary team — will be female.”

If their target is for equality, segregating genders won't help.

Sure.
Why not? It's one showing.

I don't get why do it. But I dont necessarily see something wrong with it

Will they do blacks only for Black Panther?

All male actors will also be edited out of the film in this screening. :o

But for real, I don't see any problem with it.

I mean, it seems like a "girls' night out" kinda thing.

Altough using only female staff seems a little extreme, but eh there's nothing wrong with it.

It's weird to me more than problematic or wrong.

Again. Are they going to do blacks only for Black Panther? Or

Yeah I think that'd be weird too.

I think it's weird nowadays whether youre a man, woman, black, white, hispanic, gay, straight, transgender to do a "______ Only" screening

I just don't get it. I don't think it benefits anything.
I mean it kinda is a whole nother thing

And I can already see this going into "If this offends you you're sexist" kinda deal. And those never end well so...

They're going to do a fish people only screening for Aquaman.:o

Eh, this ain't really hurting anyone so more power to them. If it gives the people participating a greater sense of camaraderie than yeah, do you.

Whoever got a problem with this news probably has insecurity issues.

It will be a girls night out sorta thing, but its inviting people to accuse them of sexism. Should have had a girls screening and guys screening for this film or another superhero film. If girls get a night out give the guys a night out as well.

Or better yet just let both sexes watch the film together like normal movie screenings. :funny: Keep it simple.

Some guys are upset because there are 6 other days of that particular week in that particular movie theatre at those particular times that they can see Wonder Woman.

Poor babies.

Also, it's on a Tuesday. So not even a weekend.

Yeah...this is what I was referring to when these kinds of flicks come across as pandering.

Pandering to who? Women?

The character is called Wonder Woman after all.

Not like it was avoidable in this day & age, but still hope that Black Panther and Capt. Marvel movie don't go to this extent.
Black Panther as mentioned is just...no, especially when BP stands for something else entirely.

Why not? Who honestly cares? And if the special screenings of WW bring more women into the comic book world, well I guess that gives the super nerds a better chance to get laid.

Jokes aside, it's two screenings. It's not a big deal.

Don't see a problem with I'd say go for it it's not hurting anyone.

But speaking of hurting check out the cinemas twitter and facebuck they are trolling all the complaining men claiming sexism it's amazing

We've had Girl's Night screenings for certain movies for a while here. Didn't think this was new.

Wow, one night and a triggered poster overreacts. We can have women-only gyms like Curves, and I've been to places that are men only. It's not a big deal, as long as you're not a dick about it.

I really don't see what the big deal is. I'm sure they've had plenty of unofficial "women's only" screenings when they played Magic Mike, the Twilight movies, 50 Shades movies.

Now if they ever do an Expendables type action movie and have a "Bros Only" night, then women shouldn't complain one bit.

The Hot Wheels collector's conventions I've been to have been men only, though I believe that was more due to outcome than to planning.

Whether intended or not (I think it is), this mini-controversy certainly made news and got the word further out on the theatre and impending movie.
