Found this over at AICN...

Only 'cos it's the silly season (what does that term even mean?) do I bother mentioning this, but the "Fresh Prince" has sent in a piece that appeared in The Telegraph over in England. Apparently, Australian actor Alan Dale (known best for his roles on "24", "West Wing" and as the rich grandfather in "The OC") is up for a role in THE DARK KNIGHT. They don't know, however, which role Dale will be playing. My money's on Harley Quinn, but we'll apparently find out in March when the full cast is revealed.

Hmmmm

 ?????????????
:woot: Where´s the link?

yeah, I was wondering that myself. I can't find the story anywhere on AICN.

If this is fake, then it is a poorly attempted joke; not funny at all, completely pointless in every single way, shape and form. I thought people had better stuff to do with their lives than make up news, but oh well...

anyone here care to speculate what role Dale could play if the rumor is true?

He's much too old for Dent, so it's not that. Perhaps a mob boss of some sort? But which?

thought the same.

I hope hes not playing Maroni. I'd prefer someone a little...weightier, for Maroni.

Perhaps he'll have a small role as Jeremiah Arkham?

It could be anything, a small role like a city official, cop. Probably not a role of huge importance.

Allthough I suppose there's a good chance it's a young Barbara Gordon.

That image is beautiful!

Seriously, how did anyone think the Harley remark was serious? The internet really needs a sarcasm font. ;)

Okay, moving on to speculation - first thing that popped into my head was Hugo Strange, based on appearances.

However, smart money says it's the Mayor of Gotham.

And guys - WE GOT NEWS! Isn't anyone a little excited about it? Anyone? Bueller?

Interesting that we've gotten this bit of casting rumor right at the end of the year. Although AICN have reported some false stories in the past they've also had their fare share of scoops as well.So i wouldn't be so quick to call it BS.

I'm familar with the movies and tv series he's worked on but i can't say i remember him in any of those. I wonder what role he could possibly be up for. He'll soon turn 60 so i doubt he's playing Harvey Dent.Hmmm.....

Yes! I'm not alone in being excited.

This is what Alan Dale looks like:

If it helps any.

He really fits Mayor Hill and if it was BS - there's far more obvious names to pull out the hat than Alan Dale. Feels like it might have some truth to it.

Heh, so after casting so many English and Irish in BB, is it the turn of the Aussies in TDK? If so, Miranda Otto for Sarah Essen, DAMMIT!

He looks like the mayor type in that pic and i think Mirinda Otto would be great as Essen!

AICN claims this bit of news appeared in the Telegraph, one of the more trustworthy newspapers in the UK, so i think it has some truth to it. Does anyone have the full article to back this up? Just in case...
