SIENNA MILLER, JESSICA ALBA and KATHERINE HEIGL are all in the running to be the new Barbarella.
The threesome are the current favourites with the film’s producers to step into the famous silver boots for the role of the space-age sex siren made famous by JANE FONDA in the 1968 classic.
A film insider said: “The script is underway and JOHN CARPENTER is set to direct so it’s all about finding the new Barbarella.
“This will be a huge movie and with Barbarella such a strong female character, half the leading ladies in Hollywood will want this role.
“Sienna, Jessica and Katherine are probably top of the list but others have not been ruled out.
“Whoever gets it is going to have to look super-hot in not very much clothing!”

Of those three, it seems Hiegl has (or had back when I actually watched something she did) a bombshell type look. The others are "hotter", but Barbarella to me seems more like a bombshell type.

I hope they dont actually think that this will be a good movie...play this sucker up for cheese factor and sexuality...make it a college stoner dorm room favorite because it does not look to be a blockbuster. Giving what is needed to achieve this, I certainly dont see Alba or Heigl being right for the role.

Of course, they probably think that this is going to be a serious role with blockbuster potential.

Out of those three I hope Siena Miller or Katherine Heigl get the role. They are plain simply better actress' than Alba and they are hot. Albas' lousy acting ruins her movies and I don't care how much skin she shows.

I think Miller or Heigl would be great choices actually....especially Heigl with her nice curvy look.

Have to agree. I think Heigl is attractive but never got the hype surrounding her when Knocked Up came out but she's definitely the best one of out those 3 for the role.

I agree Heigl is the best choice by far. I love her movies like even the ones nobody really knows about like The Bride of Chucky and Valentine. She would make an excellent B. But I'm not really sure with her opinionated nature that she would take such a role.

Neither Alba nor Heigl is willing to nude up, and despite everyone drooling over her as the Baroness, Sienna Miller nekkid wouldn't do much for me. Plus, she's a bit of a shrimp in general. I think you'd want someone a little more statuesque for Barbarella.
