Alcohol... the cause and solution to all our problems.

Vodka & Ice will ruin your kidneys. Rum & Ice will ruin your liver. Whiskey & Ice will ruin your heart. Gin & Ice will ruin your brain. Pepsi & Ice will ruin your teeth. Apparently Ice is not good for you!!! Warn all your friends to lay off the Ice!!

Ice Cube and Vanilla Ice must be murderers then.

I used to love margaritas as tequila was the quickest way for me to get a buzz (never been really drunk-- I can't handle enough alcohol to get me there). A few months ago, my table got a pitcher of frozen margaritas and I drank a few. They were strong and I was feeling blissfully silly for a few hours.

We got home and I threw up all night and felt sick the next day. That's the first time I've ever been sick from drinking and I haven't had tequila since. It took awhile before I would drink anything at all.

I do like whiskey sours or Jack and Coke, or any kind of rum drink.

Ben wasn't joking here. Much like how in some Asian countries today when you ask for water you get tea, people in Colonial America (including kids) drank low-alcohol beer as a substitute for unhygienic water. For breakfast, during the work day, at night. It was low proof, so not enough to get crunked, but I'm sure a few kids got goofy off of it. Suppose they thought the alcohol killed all the parasites and bacteria.

And another famous Franklin quote: "Beer is proof God loves us." :awesome:

I try to stay away from tequila. It's the only thing that gave me a Super-Poison-Godhelpme-Hangover. I didn't wake up with just a headache; I woke up with a headache, sweating bullets, and so nauseous I didn't know if I was gonna vomit or poop.

It turned out to be both.

Idk what's going on in this threard I just know I'm drinking atm, and I'm at work counting down the hours until I leave.

You're drinking at work? Tsk tsk.

TO be honest, and this isnt a boast, I can drink pretty much anything and still be standing, I have been out drinking for 3 days straight on a number of occasions with no help from drugs (I simply dont do them, not my thing) or food. I very rarely got sick, last time was in Ibiza a few weeks ago when I drank for 4 days straight with only a burger to eat throughout and about 2 hours sleep, I was back on the ale the next day of course.

I'll be honest I love drinking. And I ALWAYS remember stuff the next day, no matter what I drink, I think its a gift!

I couldn't do that, mostly because I love eating too much.

I should mention that alcohol puts me to sleep before it makes me do anything stupid. I've never drank so much that I blacked out. I drink, I sleep, and I wake up knowing exactly what just happened.

I remember when I sold cars, some of the guys would snort coke at work. and i don't mean coca cola.

Back when I worked retail at a certain electronics store (I won't name names in this kind of story), the Day After Thanksgiving sales brought out the substance abuse in everybody. Everyone from the regular employees to the supervisors to the managers were all drinking on breaks, popping pills, and smoking weed behind the building. Even I had a few drinks during my 3-hour lunch break (I got a 3 hour lunch because I was working from 4am to 11pm).

I usually have a high tolerance but that stuff can turn a room into a carousel/amusement park and cause me to vomit incessantly. yuk

What do you do for work?

I love this thread title, "the cause" is good enough to keep me away from that stuff

I hate beer, but I love America and Football! Whoooo.

But seriously though, like Spoons and someone else said, American beer shouldn't even be considered beer. Because it's not, it's terrible.

I'm more of a hard liquor, whiskey, vodka drinker.

*Looks around*

What....JStorm hasnt posted in here yet??

I'm nursing a hangover this morning... and the worst thing? I know at any moment i'm going to get a phone call and be made to get up out of my nice comfy bed and face the world... if I can make it down the road without vomiting!

Not a microbrewery (at least not anymore), but Sam Adams is the best mass-produced American beer imho. Love its seasonal beers (especially around the fall-early winter).

I love SA. It was my first stop on my journey to Beersnobbery

I love Sam Adams, but the first time I had their Boston Lager (at a restaurant, no less), it had skunked. I don't know how a restaurant let their beer skunk, but they did. I've been afraid to try it ever since.

Something I recently tried was rum and milk together. I heard someone order it on a TV show once. My friend hated it, but I like it a lot. Especially with Oreos.

I don't drink often anymore, just the occasional beer when I am doing hard labour, bottle wine with supper, or mixed drink at night-time.

In my very young years starting out I would drink whatever was cheapest...which meant cheap wine. bleh...

As I got older I would drink beer but I found no matter what I would get sick in the middle of the night and had the worst hangovers. I figured out that I must of been allergic to something in it as I wouldn't get sick or have hangovers when I drank hard liquor. I am okay with a couple of beers but any more than that I would pay for it that night and next morning even if I wasn't drunk.

I ended up on whiskey as my drink of choice and would alternate between Jack Daniels, Five Star, and Crown Royal. Eventually I could drink a quart within a couple of hours and be only buzzed. I usually mixed it with Sussex gingerale which actually had a stronger taste than the whiskey.
