The movie was just meh... I got the Director's cut for 5.50 at my local target, but I may trade it in for this.

The movie is odd. It has some great performances and a few nice sequences(especially the Elephant Battle) but lacks a real structure. The film centers less on his life and actual accomplishments and more on his motivations. Despite it's already long running time, it feels like a great deal is missing from the movie, especially if we are to know what's going on. The only reason I had any idea of what Alexander did is because I happened to be studying a unit about him in school at nearly the exact time the film was released. Without it, I would have been completely lost, and I suspect many were.

As this format worked magic for Kingdom of Heaven, I will at least give it a chance and hope for the best. After all, I love lots of the talent involved.
