holy crap the most hilarious issue ever(at least the scenes with part of the JLA)!! seriously this was horribly funny. never knew frank had it in him, but damn. the pacing has picked up immensly ass well. jim lee's art is abit disspaointing especially his wonder woman. i think this was a pretty damn good issue. i like this batman alot more. dark and gritty!

8.5 out of 10. all the haters can suck it.

I like it. Where else can you see Wonder Woman spitting on Superman and then kissing him? No f#cking where else.

****, I used to defend this book, saying give it a chance, but miller is ****ed up big time. batman really is insane, he laughs like the joker

and in morrison's batman 665, he's even worst.

This series really leaves you wanting to know what comes next.. Good stuff, in its own way.

I'm willing to give Miller the benefit of the doubt now. I haven't even read issue 5 and from what I heard, I'm willing to bet that he just said "F**k it!" and decided to stop being serious and just go crazy with the damn book.

exactly why i like it. the two are insane and belong with each other. its been said that batman needs the joker aorund. they;re almost equals in a way.

okay, miller is in a diff universe. we got that. Why was Batman #665 just as insane, inface Kubert looked like he was doing his best Jim Lee impersonation. The part were he fell, he stol ethat from hush..

You know, if this was actually taking place in actual continuity, I would be pissed, but since this is pretty much Miller f**king around in his own little pocket-universe, I'm just enjoying the ride--it's a very, very, VERY slow one, but it's an enjoyable one in it's crazy way. :woot::up:

I don't think so, it all looks great IMO. He does seem to be drawing as if he were Frank Miller with talent though. So it's not his best work, but I like it. The cover was awesome.

yeah his wonder woman really looks alot like frank miller's version. which i don't like very much.

Exactly

I really don't think he was ever trying to be serious.

In any case, as a parody, it's hilarious. And the plot finally seems to be progressing a bit.

that's a good way to look at it.

Well, I thought this issue was a big turn around for this title. Actually felt like the plot is moving forward, and I love the new spin on the proto-JLA.

Plus that had to be Barbara Gordon who Batman rescued in that alley. Can totally see her becoming a groupie-like Batgirl.

I honestly don't think he's trying. I mean, Sperm Bank? Thats up there with Goddamn Batman. Its a shame Jim Lee is being wasted on Miller's ego.

Ign summed it up well for me, saying that ASBAR is like a highway car wreck...it's horrible and all, but you can't look away. This is one of the worst comics ever, it's almost a joke that Jim Lee is drawing this. And yet...

I can't stop buying the book and reading it. Unreal how bad it is, but I can spare a couple bucks every six months to see what ridiculousness Miller has thrown at me this week.

Funny, though, how no one seems to ***** about this series tainting DKR... I mean, this series is set in the DKR-verse along with Year One and DKSA...

That's because DKSA already tainted the **** out of DKR.

The reason ASB&R is enjoyable is, for the billionth time, it's works as a parody.

At the risk of sounding like an idiot, I thought Year One was in continuity, unlike everything else he's done.

Year One is in continuity.

But Frank Miller doesn't believe in continuity.

Unless it's his continuity.

Which is a continuity that features Year One as well.

...yeah.

It sucks that this features more Hal Jordan, emerald waiter, than Dick Grayson.
