I was watching the animated All-Star Superman for the first time in a while today and I got to wondering...

A complaint leveled at the 2011 movie was that a lot of Morrison's original story was left out. Similar complaints were made about the 2007 Superman: Doomsday and how much of Death of Superman was missed out there. Now DoS is being re-done, this time over two movies. Do you think they'd ever revisit ASS and give it a fuller, two movie treatment? Would you want them to? It's not my favourite Superman story but I'd love to see that Smallville/Chronovore adventure onscreen.

Death of Superman is the highest selling graphic novel iirc and one of Superman's most famous arcs, ASS getting redone isn't impossible but I don't see why they would bother with all the other stories they could do

Actually, I like the film - while Morrison's work is a masterpiece, the film streamlines it to its most essential parts and has a redemption ending for Luthor.

I have no problem with AS Superman.

They're taking another crack at the Death of Superman because, aside from the presence of Doomsday, that first movie had almost nothing in common with the comic story.

Same can't be said for All-Star. It was condensed, but it wasn't really a departure.
