We already saw that Thomas is being portrayed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Also, Bruce isn't gunned down on Earth 2; he lives to become The Batman, but sacrifices himself in an effort to halt the machinations of Steppenwolf, one of the New Gods. Thomas Wayne then assumes the mantle of the bat to honor his son and atone for past wrongs.
