This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]498495[/split]
I honestly think Ma and Pa Kent could've been handled way better in MOS. Instead of being like "please hide your powers cause people might hate you", they could've encouraged him to become a superhero while warning him about the consequences of doing so.
Clark's relationship with his parents is a big part of his character. It's the big "human" element of his mythos, imo. It's an extremely optimistic story. Maybe that's the reason why people think it's unrealistic, idk ¯\_(ツ_/¯
What's really tiring is the endless debates about MOS in the BVS forum. MOS has its own forum and its own thread in the DC Films forum. Why must people always bring it up here? It's the only film that is constantly debated in its sequel's forum.
ExactlyLike was it really necessary to post a review bringing up 2 year old points in THIS section? Just when I thought I was over this ****, something happens that really just bothers the **** out of me.

One interesting thing about the BvS trailer is they are seemingly paying off what the premise of world reaction to someone like clark. The firs 30 seconds of that teaser plays like Jon Kent's I told you so.they were smart to have him stay hidden until he had actually come to terms with his powers and learned how to use them. if he had not, then the govt would have had him indoctrinated by the time he was grown. or they would have tried to dissect, kill, imprison him and he would have turned on humanity.
It's because of indifference towards the film.

I'll get us back on BvS-- I really liked the theory that was posited about Lex possibly controlling technology. I think it could explain the nuke looking thing in the teaser, and the Batwing? shooting at stuff. I especially like the idea that Supes might have to face innocent people under Lex's control and learn how to stop them without killing.
you think maybe that's how Lex gets Superman to go after Bats? He hacks his tech and makes him a criminal?
One thing that I absolutely loved about Metallo in the animated series was that he basically went insane because he couldn't experience the "little things" that humans take for granted. He couldn't feel anything by touch, he couldn't eat, he couldn't drink, he couldn't sleep, and he couldn't make love. That's what pushed him over the edge. That loss of biological functions and pleasures.
He'd be a terrific villain.
Not just controlling tech but also the public image of Supes. Like the militant group that operates under the "leadership" of Superman. Throw in a little Metallo and I think you have a really layered conflict that would put each hero to the test.I'll get us back on BvS-- I really liked the theory that was posited about Lex possibly controlling technology. That was my theory.![]()
Also, who would play Metallo?
Was it? I thought it was Marvin's? Maybe he was elaborating on you?Theories fly fast and furious around here. But I really hope this one is true.
Metallo should be mo-capped and voiced by James Spader. I think he'd make a great evil robot. Oh wait....![]()

yeah Ultron kinda boxed WB in on the villain front for Superman. He's very similar to both Metallo and Brainiac. Both a highly advanced AI and powerful robot. And with the delay of releasing BVS Marvel beat them to the punch.
Now using either one of those villains is going to prompt the critics to cry copycat.

That's not true at all, TASM was also a recurrent thing in the TASM2 boards. And also there people got uncomfortable whenever the dislikes got brought up. It's beyond unrealistic to expect that not to happen, ever. A first film is the absolute best tool to judge the prospects of a second film by.
