What if this is a Superman that for now doesn't have limits on how far he can go in saving people? A couple of posters here imagined a scenario in which Superman helped a country that was destabilizing. What if Superman interfered in war? What if he deposed a dictator? What if he's successful where governments aren't in helping countries, creating international political embarrassment?

The possibilities...yeah I can't wait for this film. :yay:

yeah there could be some meta reason for his disapproval. Interfering too much in mankind's destiny. Not letting humans progress naturally and learn from their mistakes. Becoming too dependent on him to solve geo-political problems. upsetting the balance of powers among nations etc.

Screenplay issues....

David Goyer was not fired.

Let's use an example.
Let's say I get contacted by WB to write the script for Teen Titans. Let's pretend I am not a unknown writer but a guy that has had a few hits and I'm somewhat in demand.
So I write a first draft. Turn it in. I get notes. I write a second draft. I get notes. I am then contracted for only one more draft. I write the third draft.
All screenwriter contracts are for three drafts only.
WB can then decide to with contract me again for another three drafts or bring in someone else to do another three drafts.
If they don't contract me again it's not that I got fired. My contract is up...and their could be any number of reasons why.
If I am in demand I may have other work.
Hot new academy award winning writer may really love the Titans and they want to give him a crack at it.

Story and screenplay

David Goyer is credited with the story. Chris Terrio is credited with the screenplay. What that means is Goyer's script just got another draft by Terrio. He's not completely re-writing it. He's just punching up dialogue, making scenes better and adding connective tissue to WW and JL.

Roach writing the upcoming Teen Titans movie CONFIRMED!!!

Who the hell is Marcy? :oldrazz: :o

THis what i'm going to call her. We playful like that.

Unless Mercy is also an Amazon...

They have a few versions of Mercy. There is no reason to think she HAS to be like TAS one. Making her an Amazon adoptee, or escaped Amazon, or even as she was on YJ a full on android, would make for a formidable opponent, IF any of this is true to begin with.

Any of these two will work, just don't power down WW. If she could practically fly, her ass better not be beat by some mortal martial artist expert.

You keep saying "practically fly."
What do you mean by that? Does she typically fly, or leap tall buildings in a single bound?

I think it will be interesting to see WW's power level. Will she be as strong as Supes? Will her powers develop?

I wonder if WW is "practically flying" just cause of the story and not from lack of flying ability. Like maybe her storyline just doesn't require flying, but she can do it?

Perhaps they're just saving the actual flying for the WW solo?

When Brainiac is used, they should go with a combination of the classic and the DCAU Brainiac.

Upon discovering Krypton would soon be destroyed, Brainiac (an advanced Kryptonian AI that the entire planet relied on for energy/technology) goes against his programming and activates a Kryptonian war device that bottles the city of Kandor. After the attack, he takes the shrunken city and abandons Krypton, without a warning of their impending doom.

Brainiac's goal is basically to go to a bunch of different planets and bottle cities once he has obtained all the information he can on those planets

Brainiac would be an AI, but like a parasite, he would eventually take over the body of the Coluan scientist, Vril Dox. Over time, Brainiac/Vril Dox would become more biomechanical in appearance. It'd be cool if cinematic Brainiac resembled the art of HR Giger.

I think the STAS Brainiac is my favorite Brainiac interpretation. The ties to Krypton make Brainiac much more interesting.

Brainiac has a lot of potential to be a very threatening and scary villain, i hope WB doesn't hold back on this character. I feel the same way about Darkseid.

Xerxes in 300 is a pretty good idea of the way I'd like to see Darkseid portrayed. Swap this scene out with Javier Bardem (with heavy voice modulation) in full Darkseid gear, and it'd be ideal cinematic Darkseid.

Meh... I think that Brainiac should have absolutely NO ties to Krypton in the DCCU. For one, I don't think that all the threats Superman should face have to be from Krypton for a variety of reasons (variety itself being one of them). Biggest is that it really does legitimize the dumb idea that Earth would be better off without Superman around, if threat after threat comes from the mere fact that Superman is on Earth. Brainiac as a cosmic level threat that had VISITED Krypton and then targets Earth is enough I think. Not to mention we saw Krypton in MOS already and there is no mention of a Brainiac as the central computer system of the entire planet. So we gotta start retconning things already? Sorry, I know the animated show has it's fans but leave that to the DCAU Would be my vote. Also, Brainiac having visited and stolen Kandor and now targeting Earth is good enough. I don't see what it really adds other than "making it personal" which the specifics of MOS make moot again since it's different from the DCAU already. Also, isn't it enough that an alien force is threatening all of the planet? That should be motivation enough already for Superman. It's not like it's particularly MORE compelling just because Brainiac is from Krypton. Does this make Superman try harder to stop the villain out to destroy all he holds dear? No. He should be bringing his A game regardless.

Heroes such as Batman for example being 'magnets' for terror if you will isn't exclusive this superman premise. I mean even Ironman...
That being said, I would personally hope they avoid the A.I. robot for various other reasons. Especially in a jla scenario.

Still think The Elite is a primo idea of a superman solo in this age.

Yeah I don't think WB should avoid every character that's similar to a Marvel character but I think for now, they should avoid using Brainiac after Age of Ultron.

The Elite story or an adaption for the DCCU at least would be a great way to explore the issues and questions of character development brought up by starting this version Superman off by having him dispatch Zod. Manchester Black and crew are colorful characters and the idea of this Superman now putting his "no kill code" on the line as something he would die for would be compelling I think.

Darkseid and all the other two look the same to me.

I'm using her words.

Oh for real?

That's cool. I guess I missed that interview. I like that idea enough, I suppose. She can be more grounded and powerful, but have a lot of grace in her movements. I picture Superman being much less methodical, and more about brute strength.

Batman, on the other hand, has plethora of martial arts training and can be a dirty fighter. They each have a very different presence.

I'm going to get in trouble for writing this but here goes.

I honestly don't care if they use Darkseid because Thanos is already the most boring thing ever to me. People are going to think that I'm saying that because I lean DC and was exposed to Darkseid first but that's not true. From everything I've seen of Thanos in the MCU he is a yawn inducing villain. As for Apocalypse, I assume he is going to look nothing like his comicbook counterpart and will be wearing some lame black leather costume or something.

Nods in approval.

Hands you a clove cigarette.

As we stand together inside the Rogaine offices about to be demolished, we wait for BvS.

Screen fades to black/Where is my mind- Pixies

speaking of flying I wonder if this version of Batman can glide like Nolan's
