All Marvel films were cheap productions that did nothing for the genre until the late 90's. Superman, Batman and TMNT were the only comic book franchises until Blade came along.

TMNT is iffy because it was riding high off the cartoon and bore very little resemblance to the comics.

Best way for cbm films to stay fresh and new is to incorporate a sub genre within each film like a political thriller (Cap: TWS) or a crime drama (TDK) etc.

Agreed, waiting nearly three years to watch a film with the hype levels of this magnitude was a true test of fanboy fortitude and what a journey that was, months of speculation and theories all boiling down to two and a half hours of footage is truly fascinating and exciting.

The delay has certainly helped in the anticipation. I rarely go to Thursday previews for films, but this will be one of the exceptions.
