Sorry, I keep seeing "Based Snyder" and now "Based Affleck", what does "Based" mean, like based on the comic book?
Washing Machines
He thinks it's acceptable to destroy Superman if there is even a 1% percent chance he's evil. He thinks a 1% chance deserves to be treated as an absolute certainty.
That is no way rational, and should not be treated as such.
Hm, well when you look at it that way, Batman is seemingly rage filled due to Superman actions in MoS. Which were neccessary despite the damage done to save the world. THEN AGAIN, Batman is just being on the safe side. He's trying to let Superman know there's someone who CAN hurt him. Not kill him, so there's that. Still gonna need to see more. With Batman being such an rage filled jerk... I think it's pretty clear Supes is NOT being hypocritical wanting to such him down. Especially with this last TV spot, I can completely imagine that Batman is going too far and needs to be stopped. Supes seems clearly in the right to me...and I'm a diehard Bats fan who never liked Supes till MoS.
Superman is capable of destroying the planet in a single afternoon. You don't take chances on a being like that when you don't know his character.
...maybe, but he has been saving people and pulling cats out of trees for almost 2 years so he could cut him a little slack...
So has Batman....well probably not the cats in trees thing. But he has been saving people....maybe, but he has been saving people and pulling cats out of trees for almost 2 years so he could cut him a little slack...

Maybe it's my phone, but "brought the war to us" sounded a bit modulated to me, which was odd considering he's not in the suit.
Still, great bit by Affleck.
I have a feeling this conflict is going to rich with layers. Snyder said he uses it show what makes each character tick.

Nope...Superman already showed his character by SAVING THE PLANET! If that ain't enough to cut him the benefit of the doubt, nothing is.
I think you're looking at this from the perspective of someone who knows that Superman won't go bad, as opposed to a character in the universe he inhabits. That person doesn't have the benefit of comic books, video games, television series, and movies to tell them that Superman is a good person. He also seems to think killing Supes will give him back control and protect everyone. This is misguided and deluded.
It's only been 8 months. And we know that Batman has seen ostensibly incorruptible men go bad. Who's to say that Superman couldn't go the same way as Harvey Dent?

It's obvious to me that Bruce/Bats is out of his mind over this-- he is feeling helpless because he's encountering things out of his control, and feeling guilty (unnecessarily) because he couldn't save everyone from Zod. He's taking the fever, the rage out on criminals and thinks that's okay. He also seems to think killing Supes will give him back control and protect everyone. This is misguided and deluded.
