What if the chase is unsuccessful and Batman loses the truck? He gets the second chance later. Or he can get the stuff right away if the chase is a success. There's no need to try to get it later from LexCorp. He can get it now. It doesn't paint Batman as an idiot.
Maybe they think throwing big names at the problem will make it go away.
A Mel Gibson Suicide Squad movie?
Oh I'll believe that when I see it.
As I said, I'll believe it when I see it.If the WB would not give Ben Affleck what he wanted & he stepped down what makes people think they will give Mel Gibson what he wants & hes the last person thats a yes man. Would he wanna deal with WB since he only just recently worked so hard on getting his reputation back ? The WB will destroy it before pre production begins
I'd sooner believe Ben buckled under the pressure than WB once again meddling into directorial affairs. Especially after the huge public outrage when the news came out for BvS and SS.The problem is the behind the scenes meddling issues Warner Brothers has if Ben Affleck lost that battle I highly doubt Mel Gibson would win it
One of the people that is also on the list of candidates to helm the sequel is Safe House director Daniel Espinosa while Gibson is taking his time to do his research. Variety is reporting that Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) and Jonathan Levine (Warm Bodies) are also being eyed to possibly direct the sequel. Fury director David Ayer helmed the first installment featuring DC villains such as Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, Harley Quinn, Killer Croc and El Diablo which pulled in over $740 million at the worldwide box office.
You're saying they shouldn't go after talent?
Boy, that negativity is really kneejerk at this point, isn't it?
How do you know Mel wasn't intrigued by the concept? He's not exactly the type to do studio pics on the whim.I am. They should go after exceptional talent that has profound interest in and passion for their characters. If they just go for 'talent' like this Mel Gibson, this will blow up in their faces hilariously.

That's the point. If Mel signs the dotted line, evidently there would be reason to believe they came to an understanding they wouldn't meddle into his affairs. But Mel is not a yes man & would be one of the last people on this planet dealing with Warner Brothers ******** & Warner Brothers has a ****** reputation right now
And this would be relevant if we were talking about a superhero picture. This IP is the antithesis of that and it's probably why Mel was approached, because this is the only type of genre pic I could imagine him doing.Snyder was also intrigued with the concept of Superman, but when you hate the idea of superheroes, it unfits you to make a lovable superhero movie.
Easier said than done. There are studio pics which succeeded because the studio intervened, or because the auteur fought for every decision and managed to win out.The thing is BVS is the result of giving TOO MUCH creative freedom to the director. There were cuts to make the movie not be like, 3 hours long. The stuff that's wrong with it is still mostly Snyder.
What they should've learned from that is that you should let creative types have input but also be prepared to say no when they propose something stupid.
