i always thought man of steel was a popular name just like god of thunder is for thor or the caped crusader for batman

it is not like movie is called the man of tomorrow lol

I know what you mean but it has to be promoted to show exactly what it is alot of people I know when I say Man of Steel ask what it is.

Same. I always have to follow with 'the new Superman movie' after people give me a quizzical look.

Gentlemen, if Man of Steel becomes a monster hit and gets a sequel, can we all vow to not become like the TDK fanatics who are spewing vitriol at critics who don't give TDKR a perfect score.

Now don't make us make promises we can't keep. :o

I'm pretty disturbed where fandom has been heading for the last 5 or 6 years.

I would be willing to make that pledge. I honestly don't get all the hate from a reviewer giving their honest opinion. But then I'm sane....somewhat.

That's a great line.

I can't stop watching this footage. Apart of me thinks that the teaser with TDKR will be a condensed version of this or something new. I do hope it keeps the feel of this though.

What ? I would want Superman fans to become like TDK fanatics who cannot tolerate any negativity thrown at their fav. movie because Superman has suffered enough all these years. :oldrazz:

There will be a sequel to Man of Steel for no other reason than the situation with the lawsuits. No need to worry there.

one thing i do truly like about the new suit: there aren't a barrage of "S"s on the pattern of the suit :)
It wasn't all over the pattern of the suit. Just the :super: and the boots (which I never quite understood). Now one of the early concepts of the suit had the :super: in the blue of the suit. The suit that we wound up with had a diamond pattern in the blue.

Thats very embarrasing, I don't even know why people care what its score is on RT. That said its not just batman fans who do that.

I cannot vow, because Superman deserves justice! :p

It's just that between reading some of the Batman threads, and the horrific comments to these critics, I think we should really be above that.

Same here. I actually thought it was THE most popular superhero nickname, maybe moreso than the Dark Knight or the Caped Crusader. But then a lot of things I thought were common knowledge seem not to be, like how everyone wants to call Alfred "Batman's butler".
